Looks like Idzik deferred to Ryan in the first round at least. Not exactly a profile in courage for our new GM. So much for a new era. Looks exactly like the old era so far. With 2 first round picks , the Jets not only couldn't trade down, but fucked up the picks they made. A #9 pick who is as brittle as Joe McKnight and a #13 that really isn't needed. I guess we really didn't need any immediate help on the OLine, TE, etc. Perhaps Idzik is prepping the team to go 2-14 and going after a real Qb. Somehow after this year, I highly doubt it. Question? Why didn't they just make Rex Ryan GM and be done? Spared us all this bullshit in the process.
so I guess Rex advised Seattle to draft 2 defensive players with their 1st two picks last year? shut the fuck up and let the man cook
No, why don't you go fuck yourself instead and realize this team fucked up its first two picks. Fucking homers never change. Always a fucking excuse for every fuckup. Newsflash. This is New York, not fucking Seattle.
lol says you the cry baby draft expert? what 2 picks would have transferred the team from shit to gold?
None.. But, there are bigger needs for this team and if IDK really was calling the shots, a different direction would have been taken. Instead, we get a Rex Ryan draft. No surprise there considering these are the Jets we're talking about. IDK has more rounds to redeem himself but somehow, I just don't see that happening. Especially if he defers to Rex in every round. Business as usual with the New York Jets Franchise on draft day. Another year, another fuck up. Then again, Homers don't see that. Crybaby? get over yourself Ghost.
These picks are surprising, but keep in mind that we still have 6 more rounds left and only 2 skill players have been chosen. Idzik is a General Manager, I think he knows what he's doing by not reaching too high on offense. If we don't pick offense by day 3, I'm right with you. But, until then, relax. As you say, step away.
AJ, for the sake of all of us, I hope you're right but so far man, IDK has lived up to his initials. This team has bigger needs than defense. Much more pressing needs than defense. IDK actually appears as though he really doesn't know.
Idzik said #Jets were tempted to go offense with one of their picks, but they wound up with two of the top 4 players on their board. #nyj Idzik: "We selected 2 of our top 4 players on our board. Period." #Jets
I do agree with you, I was frustrated as hell at first too. Make no mistake about it. However, Austin was gone. He was the best wide receiver in the draft by far. Had we lost one more game, we would have gotten him. Warmack was the only guy I would have honestly drafted at 13 to be honest. Why we didn't take him, I have NO idea. But, Milliner was a good pick, IMO.
Hopefully we take Geno tomorrow if he's available but knowing the Jets they'll take a d lineman and tell us that "hez da bess playa availibl"
TE? G? Maybe IDK's plan is to suck in '13 so we can draft offense in '14. Maybe the league office can send out another memo stating clearly that the league is now trending offensively. Perhaps we'll get it one day.
I'm just going to trust our scouting department knows more then rotoworld scouring know it alls on a message board.
