What a bunch of fuckery, still no help on offense even after how putrid it was last season. Really?????
maybe mornhinweg didnt think the jets should take any of the guys its also possible that the team had them rated higher as far as bpa goes but overall, if rex thought he was the best guy available, im gonna be ok with it. hes done pretty good with his defensive picks so far, wilkerson and coples are beasts, davis is starting this season, wilson for all the shit he gets could be pretty good if moved to safety, and isnt so bad at corner like i said, there are players i would have rather taken, but im not gonna freak out over it, they will hopefully turn out well.
I named two guys (one at 9 one at 13) because we had two picks and that's how I would have used them if I couldn't work a trade down.
Seriously though this reeks of tank mode to me. We'll have a very good defense again like we've had for years under Ryan but the offense is going to be dire. We're tanking here already for Teddy Bridgewater......
this pick was not to replace Revis' value, you aren't replacing his value w/ anyone. we need weapons on O and 1st rd after 1st rd we go D, D, D and our D still folds in big spots and is overrated every year
It is a bit comical how the last 5 first round picks have all been cornerbacks and d-line, widely ignoring the safety and pass rush positions. The last time the Jets picked offense in the 1st round, it was Dustin Keller and Mark Sanchez, I guess thats why Rex is going all out.
Richardson looks to be very athletic from what I have seen on youtube. Other than Warmack who did they really have as a choice to pick as an offensive player. Brian Billick once said if Rex Ryan knows one things its d-linemen and they have hit so far on Coples and Wilkerson, so I trust Rex here. If they are going to a 4-3 they did not need to draft a linebacker. There were no offensive players available there to be had that were really worth the pick. Lets see the whole draft before we hate on it.
