    Hi guys,

I don't see a specific thread on this and figured since it, technically, is our BIGGEST need in this upcoming draft I wanted to start its own thread.

Having said that, what do we do? I would absolutely flip a bit if they draft any of the supposed top QB's in the first round...at any spot other than below 20, pending a trade down. None of them are worthy of above a 20 spot and most aren't worthy until the 2nd round. Thoughts?

Also, I wanted to get your thoughts on the Arizona guy, Matt Scott. Compared to Kaepernick a little and ultra productive. Maybe in the 4th or 5th round?? Just some food for discussion.

Also, I don't get a chance to watch much Big East ball here on the West Coast but what's the scoop on Nassib and why is he getting so much press?

I like Matt Scott but he looks like he will be taken in the third round maybe sooner. Scott has lots of upside. He is in a sense the anti-Sanchez as he has shown poise, quick release and the ability to get the ball out on time. Not to mention he brings added value in being able to run the ball. At worst we get a wildcat Brad Smith option with a better arm.

If we want him we will likely need to use our 3rd on him. That being said there are lots of reports that the Jets are in love with Dysert. Another possibility is if we trade back to the 20's we may end up taking Manuel or Nassib. I would be surprised if we do not take a flier on a QB in rounds 2-4.

He just looks like he will be.

Great arm, throws awesome on the run, has the size, and shows great accuracy. I honestly think he could be a sleeper

I stated why in my mock draft, but Dysert is my pick for potential best QB in this class.

I'd be stoked if we picked him

Interesting. What does he know that we hope for? The Jets don't currently own a late first round pick.

Norris list is interesting and what it basically tells us is that there's a lot we don't know about the QB's in this class.

The comparison I keep coming back to inevitably with Geno Smith is Chad Pennington. They're not at all identical but they both played in well-defined systems with some real weapons around them and they both ran those systems very efficiently.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Smith come off the board late teens just like Chad did.

I would be really surprised if the Bills took Nassib on the 8 but then again they're the Bills and they do have his college coach in the draft room.

It is a nice list and a good read. What the list also tells us is that every QB on the list has flaws. It is so subjective. For me the most important trait in a QB is toughness, poise, ability to extend plays, and decisiveness. All the qualities Sanchez lacks. That criteria eliminates most of these QBs in this class like Geno Smith. It leaves me wanting Nassib, Dysert, and Scott. Maybe Manuel makes this list as well but his price is to high. I did find his writeup on Wilson attractive. I would argue our best bet is using a third round pick on either Dysert or Scott. I could see trading back into the 20's for Nassib or Manuel but it seems like a very high price to pay.

No QB is worth drafting this year.. Next year is the good QB class wait for that. Doesn't make sense to just take a QB just to take one.

    That's a dumb comment.

Just because no QB is praised coming out like RGIII and Luck, doesn't mean you don't take a chance on one late.

IMO, we should go after Dysert. Looks very promising.

I'm confused with Dysert...I haven't seen an expert talk highly of him, or at all, yet he appears in almost every mock draft of Jets fans on this site. I get the feeling one person talked him up, and his name spread like a virus as a good qb in a late round.

As to the No QB worth drafting comment......why not spend a 5th or a 6th on a QB and hope he can surprise you...most of those guys don't make the team anyways. Every team was kicking themselves in the ass when Tom Brady blew up and was a late round pick.

It's actually not dumb.. Dumb would be taking a bad QB which this whole QB draft class is just to draft one. If u think Dysert is a good QB then u haven't watched him play. His numbers would be terrible if he played in a good conference.

I agree. Taking a flier on a QB in the 3rd round will not stop a team from drafting a franchise QB in the 1st round next year. 3rd round QBs are disposable. But one could work out upgrade the position this year and maybe for the future. What I have a problem with is taking a QB this year in the 1st round. That type of investment will make it very difficult for a team to take a franchise guy next year. Which is why it would be a great thing for us to see the Jags, Browns and/or Bills take a 1st round QB this year as it would take them out of the hunt next year.

Cause next years draft class is the time to take a QB... What happens if u draft a kid this year Sanchez beats him out what do u do next year? Do u draft another QB in a good draft class or do u see what u got with the guy u drafted in 2013 class. Wasted pick it would equal.

Lol, Dysert had a terrible team around him, but still played well considering.

He'll be a steal if we select him in the 5th round

Taking a flier in the 3rd round? That's a terrible move just to say hey I wanna draft a QB.

Go watch him. He's not good, just average. He also played terrible quality teams.

I'd almost be content if Matt Barkley was sitting around at the 39 pick to take him there, but the Jet Nation would never forgive the front office for it.
