Sort of like playing in Pittsburgh in Dec. Nassib, a lesser prospect, did not seem to have as much trouble with it. Top tier QBs adapt and adjust. Others make excuses. If that is what happens when he gets a bad field on a bad day, then no thanks. Round 3, OK, but not top 10.

Nassib did not look very good either. That game was ugly. All I am saying is dont judge a player by one game in terrible conditions.

  3. The Jets have the right to draft any QB they want as ever many times until they find their franchise. It's that important. A little thing called the rookie wage scale helps matters as well.

If they feel Geno Smith is their man..they should take him. It's that simple.

Geno Smith does not have an NFL arm, he is not accurate especially on sideline passes, he is always ready to run.

The guy I like is Glennon, cannon for an arm, accurate from the pocket, accurate on his sideline passes. Even when the pocket is on the move he has great velocity on his passes.

Jets aren't going to win with a QB similar to Christian Ponder or Jake Locker. If Geno Smith is a similar prospect we should stay clear

Dysert would be my pick. You can get him in the 4th round.

    no no no, no QB

Do you want to draft him and bench Sanchez?

Do you want to tie the hands of our next coach to a QB he didn't pick? Its like forcing a GM to keep a lame duck coach he didn't want.

We a lots of QBs already, so let this season play out and let the next coach pick his own QB, just as Rex was able. Next time it might work out better.

This is a fair statement. I only saw him in one game in poor conditions. Very small sample size. If the Jets think he is their guy, I hope I am wrong.

Btw, I love #1 that he was throwing to. Tavin Austin is going to be a stud!

I agree we should not use the first two picks on a project, however if the jets grab a QB this year in the later rounds I hope it's Glennon.

Yeah but it took 3 years for Sanchez to get 42 TDs and about a game and a half to get 6 picks.

The coach doesn't pick the QB, the GM does. Why is that so hard for people to understand? Oh and I wouldn't just bench Sanchez I would cut him and take the hit, he won't be here next year, we won't be winning anything this year and might as well start breaking in his replacement now.

  11. So in other words regardless of what the jets think about the Qbs they should just pass cause Rex Ryan likely wont be here anyway??seems pretty self defeating for a team that hasn't had a franchise qb In over 40 years.im not sure I understand this fear among jet fans about taking another qb

I agree and love everything you said. Geno Smith can make all the throws. He also will bring that big play ability that we so desperately need. He actually looks down field and throws a great accurate deep ball. I love Austin as well and agree that his feet are like no other. So quick and agile. Makes cuts on a dime and his acceleration is tremendous. But at the same time I think taking stedman bailey in the third if available would e Bette and taking either cooper/Warmack or jones at 13 would be more beneficial. Id be happy with geno and Austin tho. We need points on the board and grabbing an outside linebacker and safety in rounds 2-3 would be fine. Rex is a defensive mastermind and can work with TE players he has. He just needs an offense that can sustain drives and not have his defense on the field 75% of the game wearing them down. But my ideal situation would be to trade back from one of those picks to obtain an extra pick or two. Jets will not be as bad as everyone is making it out to be and the rebuild will be fast. If not this year then next year. By cutting Sanchez and Holmes after this season will leave us $50 MILLION under the cap, that's huge. I'm just hoping Rex is not fired because as long as he's here our defense will always be top notch

People who want Glennon need to watch him play an entire game. He's not very good. Yes, he has a big arm, but his accuracy stinks, and his footwork is clumsy. See Dan McGuire, he's a Glennon clone.

It is funny how, even here, the opinions on Smith differ wildly :) For my $0.02, I'm with the poster who suggested that, if Smith fell into the 20s, that it wouldn't be a terrible idea to grab him IF the Jets think that he's their guy. I also agree with the poster who wrote that the Jets have every right to keep picking QBs until one turns out to be a
    "franchise" guy.

If Geno Smith and Chance Warmack both go in the top 8 it probably means the Jets get one of the 3 tackles or Dion Jordan. I'd go for that in a heartbeat.

    Jordan won't sniff #9.

If both Joeckel & Fisher go 1 & 2, Phiily is going to take Jordan.

I expect all 3 top OTs go in the Top 7 at worst and could go in the top 5, if the Lions take Johnson and skip on Ansah.

This. Watching Glennon the first thing you notice is how much he shuffles around in the pocket. The second thing is how scattershot many of his deep throws are. It's like he's rushing his delivery on longer throws so that defensive backs don't have time to react to them.

Jets need to avoid QB this year and focus on building up the rest of the offense before they commit to a QB.

I don't think he's going to get past 4 either but if Smith and Warmack go in the top 8 there's a real chance.

    1. Fisher
    2. Floyd
    3. Joeckel
    4. Smith
    5. Milliner
    6. Lotulelei
    7. Johnson
    8. Warmack

That's one of the ways things would have to look to get Jordan down to 9. I think the Eagles either have to trade out of the pick or take an offensive player in order not to have Jordan go there. I don't think they're taking any other defensive player over Jordan.
