At first I was angry and hoping he didn't play, especially against us since he has a better chance of scoring a Touchdown than our offense. But after reading the reports how Idzik lied to him on day one and even as late as last week about being a Jet, I hope he has a successful career. Even though he will probably be in a contract dispute in two years and want guaranteed money. So what are your feelings on him now? Hoping he has a good year in Tampa or shoots himself in the foot and has a bad year and as bad as it sounds may get hurt again with no guaranteed money. Then they may cut him loose and he could come back.
No, I will not be cheering for a guy who held out twice with us and then ultimately forced our hand in a trade...That is not a reasonable guy to me. So once he was traded, I am done with Revis Island. A pity, as he would have been our best player ever for this franchise.
No way, SCREW HIM! Revis betrayed the Jets. He deserves nobody's support. In fact, I'm going to burn his jersey one of these days. Who is with me?
You can't feel for him when it comes to Idzik lying to him. That was business. If he told Revis, we're shopping you then Revis would hold a grudge and Tampa would have more leverage. I would like to see Revis become successful as a Buc. Revis was my favorite player and did a lot for the Jets. Also the Bucs aren't a hated rival.
All I really care about is our team so I won't be watching and hoping he wins but after week 1 I wish him well. He did so many great things for our team and I appreciate that.
I hope Tampa Bay goes 1-15 with their only win over the Patriots. I hope Revis does good in 15 games but the rest of the team sucks balls.
There have been players that I really like leave our team and I find myself still rooting for them. Then there are players who I will only root for becasue they are on our team. Holmes and Revis fall in to the latter.
Testaverde, why do you dislike Holmes? Because he said some mean things about Mark Sanchez two years ago?
When he isnt playing for the Jets ill be hoping he does well. Im like that for most Jets, I was happy to see Leon Washington come back from injury with the Seahawks. Its harder to root for them if they stay in the AFC. If they go anywhere in the AFC East then I am rooting against them.
It was best for both sides to part company. the jets had no choice.but to part company with revis.they will be okay for the future and good of the team.
I'm not going to hope that he does bad, but at this point I don't really care. He's not a Jet, and like others said, he held out twice for us and then tries to make it seem like it was the Jets who I guess "betrayed" him. Hes the one who didn't care about the team and wanted to take the big chunk for himself instead of dealing for a reasonable price. I won't forget how good he was for us, and I loved watching him. He was one of my favorite players and still probably will be simply because I love to watch him. Anyways, he's not even the best cornerback in the NFL.. Cromartie is.
Revis, is a baller. The guy takes really good care of his body, he definitely gives 100% in the classroom and on the field. He will be a tough player not to root for. Revis, loved the Jets. Tanny being a dingle berry at his job and Revis being a money loving grandson made our marriage impossible. I think he will continue to have a tremendous career, when healthy. I also think, he is going to have an incredible work load covering the receivers of the NFC South (Colston, Smith, White).
