The moves the Jets are making here in order to rebuild the team into a perennial winner is very exciting. It's also about damn time. Imagine a few years from now hearing other fans say they need to build their teams similar to the way the Jets do it?
bahah - you can't just admit you were wrong? You're going to continue to insist it's an unverified rumor? wow. just wow.
They have already added a few good players this year, including Goldson to the secondary. They should make a good leap up. As for Revis, sad to see Revis the player go, happy to unload Revis the contract headache. Next up, unload the tebow circus.
My kids used to act like that when they were 5. Their reality was the only one that mattered. Now that they are in middle school things are a bit better.
Do you feel better now? The case I was making was.......maybe the pass defense looked good numbers wise because teams had more success pounding the rock so throwing the ball wasn't needed? It's simple logic.
I'm guessing the Bucs met the terms the Jets have been discussing for the last month. It took them awhile to get there but I think they realized in the end that they couldn't move the Jets off of reasonable compensation for Revis.
Yes, overly simple. Because when you look at efficiency metrics like opposing QB percentage (2nd best in NFL) and opposing QB rating (7th best) you see that the Jets were very efficient at stopping opposing passing attacks when teams tried to pass last year.
The bottom line is that you can't pay a corner $15MM when the cap is$120MM. You just cant.... If there was no cap you would NEVER trade Revis, but that is not the world in which we live....
We do have a scenario where we could take both Geno Smith and Tavon Austion. We could also trade the 13 pick back to say the 20th and receive a 2nd round and like a 4th.
