Laffey really stinks - unless his pitches are absolutely perfect they are tattooed.

On the bright side the other half of that D'Arnaud trade got absolutely lit up by the Sawx today. I don't even think he made it to the 3rd inning. I like Dickey but it looks at least early on that the Mets actually were ahead of the curve on this one.

Yes, I like Dickey too, and I want Toronto to do well, but I have to admit that there is a positive side if it ends up that last year really was a fluke.

Laffey thankfully out of the game. There is absolutely no reason to give him another start. Unfortunately Burke isn't any good either. Looks like the Mets will lose 2 out of 3 to the Marlins, and you just can't do that if you want to be playing meaningful games in July or August.

Burke and Laffey are AAAA at best yet this is the best we can put out wk 1

Lack of runs from our 2-5 hitters will be an issue all year in my view also we have no base stealing threat

Overall we are in for a shirty ride due to a lack of investment and talent

I can't believe Gary Cohen and Ron Darling think Edgin should have gotten the win yesterday. He faced one batter and didn't actually retire him, and they don't think he pitched "briefly and ineffectively"?

More brilliance from Edgin (although Duda certainly helped there).

Absolutely bizarre strategy by Redmond and the Mets with the walkoff win!

Duda is a liability in the OF he is probably one of the least natural fielders I have seen

Good gritty comeback but there is a hell of a lot to work on.

Buck with 12 RBI in 7 games. No doubt a lot of flukiness.

Harvey with a WHIP of 0.57 after two games. Not nearly as flukey as it might seem.

If Buck continues we may have an interesting dynamic come June.. D'arnaud at 1st base....if Ike isn't performing. Not sureif it's feasible but the likes if veritek and Mauer have split time there.

Harvey is a clear ace I the making , his attitude is that which sets all great players apart.... Never satisfied !!

Bad night but lets hope its a minor bump for Gee as the front 3 in our rotation have to stayhealthy and on form otherwise our bullpen will need steroids by May!

Gee just cant be the number 3. He needs to the number 5. June can't come soon enough where we'll have Marcum and Wheeler up.

No big surprise again - Harvey and Niese are the only guys on the current roster that are above #4 or 5 starters (if that much).

Yeah, Mets are going to have problems after Niese and Harvey all season.
