To keep on adding on the pluses of bringing Kolb in, Marty knows him and made him look good. Kolb should be familiar with the playbook and be able to get it quicker than someone starting fresh. Prior history between Marty and Kolb can't hurt.
So why hasn't he been invited to the party? Not a peep linking the two since Kolb's release. Something is up with this or perhaps, absolutely NOTHING is up with this.
No idea, maybe Marty is against it? He would know best. Although this no news thing, I'm a fan of. No rumors, no speculation, just patient waiting
Yeah, but it can't be all that complicated to come to a deal. The risk of course is he goes elsewhere for a reasonable deal, and we're stuck with an injury prone Garrard and the Butt Fumble Guy.
Kolb is probably another "after the draft" guy. If we pickup a QB in the draft it probably doesn't make any sense to go after him. If we don't, then it probably does if the price is right.
Well if we want him it can't be that complicated. But maybe internally we don't want him? I don't remember what linked us to him, but was it more speculation considering we have his prior OC or something we said within the organization? You are right though, if we want him it would be foolish to wait so long. QB market is barren right now
Perhaps there are not that many other teams looking for a vet Qb? The Browns have made their move, and of course an obvious potential spot for Kolb went off the table when KC went for Smith. AZ is looking elsewhere having cut Kolb, so what other team might be in the running? The fear I have is that the Jets might have cap space this year to pick up Kolb, but want to keep available that $3mil space for the cap hit they would get if they deal Revis this off season. WOuldn't that suck?
It could also come down to, does Kolb want more money to be a backup or take less with a chance to fight for a starting spot here? Seeing the type of deals others have received out there I doubt we are investing the money like Fitzpatrick or Matt Moore got in yet another QB.
the Jets may not want to spend the money, but that desire does not lessen the fact that right now the roster is deficient at Qb. Sadly, disgracefullly, unacceptably deficient, imho.
I hear the Browns may release or trade Colt Mcoy, he could be a name to throw into the hat of the battle of "The Worst QB's That ever were or will be"
ugh...... if MM has any faith in Kolb i'd hate for the reason of not signing being cap room to move Revis.
Butt Fumble Guy. literal, in your face and yet captures the silliness of the entire debacle, and strips him of any sort of identity separate of that incident that his actual name would provide. he truly should be know this day forward as simply Butt Fumble Guy.
Are people actually getting there panty's twisted because of Kevin Kolb? Really? Like adding him to the carousel of avg to below avg QB's will make an ounce of difference to a mediocre (if lucky) season? It's hardly anything to even think about. McCoy? Kolb? Cassell? Nothing to see here people. Expect Sanchez to do just enough to beat out these jags. Start thinking QB in 2014 Sanchy comes off the books and we either sign a FA worthy of 7-8M a yr or trade a fortune (5-11 to 8-8 rec) to move into the top 3 in the 14 draft.
Kolb to the Bills per Schefter on Twitter. That blows. He would have been a great stop gap. Now the Bills get a guy who could turn into a solid starter for them.
wtf, did we even bring Kolb in for a visit? I don't like this, are the Jets really looking at a QB with the 9?
