http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...gn-cb-aqib-talib-one-deal-160949481--nfl.html Pats resigned him for a 1 year deal worth $5million. He's a good corner but inconsistent IMO. Playing on a one year deal though where Im sure he's going to wanna cash in next off season, it's a low risk move. Sent from my LG-P999
my fear is with this, that maybe they only did 1 year so they can make a go at Revis if he ends up a FA next year...
I don't care, we aren't going to be in a position to compete for the AFC East until we have a top tier QB - which could be anywhere between 2 years and never.
Go move for them. He's one off field thing away from a suspension I believe? He was key. Once he got hurt against BAL ,Flacco started seeing the field better
They offered him a 5-year deal but he turned it down, he wants to play on a "prove-it" deal so he can cash in next season, when the corner market hopefully isn't so depressed. It's a low-risk move for NE, they paid a bargain price compared to last season and Talib will be playing at his absolute best to cash in next year. Only downside is that its a one-year rental and not a long-term solution like NE wanted with the 5-year offer.
Personally I think they're drafting a CB early, and signed Talib so they'd have him for one more year while the new guy gets some experience. It'll be clearer after April 4th, when Alfonso Dennard receives his sentencing in Nebraska and finds out if he's going to miss any time.
