Sooo... any news about Kolb? Seemed like we were going to sign him one day after he got cut by the Cardinals. Does anyone know if there has been any contact between the sides? I like Idzik's new stealth-approach... but geez it's frustrating after the Tanny years
For some reason I thought the Kolb thing was confirmed on ESPN radio, but I must have heard wrong. Geez, all this time I thought we signed him. Don't get me wrong, Kolb hasn't proved shit in this league yet, but I'd welcome him to our QB competition with open arms.
Kolb is a guy who could be a decent hold the fort. Good feet solid arm as well as accuracy. He's never really beengiven a fair shake in terms of health/surrounding personnel. I wouldn't be surprised if he came in here & beat out Sanchez.
Agreed. I think too many posters/fans aren't taking into account the OL play when comparing these bottom tier QBs to Sanchez. No matter who Jets plug into the final G spot to solidify their starting 5, it's gonna miles better than anything Kevin Kolb had over @ Arizona. Fitzgerald is a beast but no starting QB is gonna take Larry Fitzgerald if he comes packaged with that OL also.
I had Larry Fitz on my ass FF team last year and watched the Cardinals more than most normal people.Thats O line over there was teh foulest thing I have ever seen. The QBs had 1 second,literally on almost every play to get rid of the ball.It was a disgrace
It's been a long time since I've seen an OL that bad. Cardinals OL last year could rival what some of those expansion teams were forced to put out & I've got serious doubts any QB in the league would've been able to start 16 games for them.
Cardinals OL was a death trap for QBs.He never got a shot in Philly, since he got hurt as soon as he got the job (and he wasn't killing it in limited action). Then at Arizona, he hasn't been able to stay healthy or have an o-line worth a damn.
all good points as well as the posts just before yours. I think Kolb could be the best of the reasonable and probably doable options out there for the Jet qb position.
