MM found his Slim "Shady" McCoy. Here is an excerpt from a Profootballfocus article that speaks to his elusiveness:

Marry Goodson innate ability to make defenders miss, MM's schemes and our highly ranked o-line, we may have ourselves a running game.

Now that we signed Goodson, should the Jets still try to draft Gio Bernard? I think Goodson, Powell, and McKnight would be a solid backfield.

This guy shouldn't prevent us from drafting anyone.

I like the signing, has potential at low risk. He should be a good back for us, and I hope better than Greene, because watching him stutter in the backfield to decide which DL should tackle him for a loss was maddening to watch.

But on the same hand, he's there cheap for a reason. Because he's not proven yet, has been injury prone, and does fumble. Lets not pretend like we got a stud here that everyone else just missed. We got someone that has upside but high risk as well, and a possible flame out. I believe last year, we were saying the same thing about Chaz Schillens and how he was going to be sneaky value that others missed out on, and we know how that turned out.

Saying all that, I do like the signing, and it's moves like this that we should be doing, trying to find gems from the scrap heap. He fits a WCO, and I guess playing with Palmer, he's used to errant throws and weak arms, so shouldn't have a problem adjusting.

I am at a stage now with the Jets when its enough just to feel relieved its not a really stupid signing or that we have traded away draft picks.

Agreed, this guy should not prevent us from taking a back. What is does is provide more flexibility though. Now, if a guy like Bernard falls to us and is high above any one else, we draft him. If it comes down to a similarly graded RB or Saftey, RB is a much lower need.

Bingo. He's a huge question mark. He could either be a great pickup, or he could turn into Joe McKnight... He has injury and fumbling problems. He has high upside, but he is not guaranteed thing.

I still want us to draft Bernard, Lacy or Franklin.

He has Injury and Fumbling problems already sounds like Joe Mcknight. Hopefully he is a little smarter though.

The problem is Barnard isnt worth 9, and will be gone by 39.

    Fumbling is a coaching point.

Tslented guys dont get their balls busted to tuck the ball in to the armpit, even thru college.

Watch NFL net, except for the combine...on game snippets you see some of the best backs hand carrying the ball. They get coached to tuck it away at the combine, but the tape never lies.

Seems to have some big play ability and can catch the ball out of the backfield, solid.

If he's going to get coached up on the proper way to hold on to the ball, it won't be from MM. Ever watch how Shady holds on to the ball when he runs? He literally holds it like a loaf of bread. I'm always shocked that he doesn't lead the league in fumbles every year. I guess when you shake defenders the way he does, you don't have to be worried about them getting close enough to the ball to knock it away.
