I suppose it would be dependent on if the new team signs Revis to an extension prior to June 1, voiding his current contract?
The June 1 designation wouldn't come into play in this case. The most likely scenario is that the trading partner will sign Revis to a long term contract, and be force to payoff the signing bonus. Revis would sign his new contract with a signing bonus and payoff the old signing bonus.
The example doesn't resolve the question. The question is: if Revis is traded before June 1st can any of his prorated bonus money be pushed to the 2014 cap?
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Suitors for safety Laron Landry: #49ers, #Cardinals, and #Bucs. Interesting Bucs in the mix for a safety again. Could be in Goldson mix
Do you have a link on that that clearly states that if a player is traded before June 1st he can be one of the club's exceptions and have his prorated bonus pushed to the following cap? I still haven't seen anything that suggests this is the case.
Shit were gonna lose Revis and Landry, damn i thought if we lost Revis we would lock up Landry but i guess not. The Eagles released Namdi he could come cheap after we trade Revis
Call me crazy, but I don't think Landry will sign elsewhere until he hears an offer from the Jets. We revived the dudes career, i think he feels he owes us that much.
Are you kidding me? The guy is one of the hardest hitters in the NFL and when healthy, is a constant Pro Bowl safety. Overrated how? LOL
No, you're not alone. I think he's a good, not great, player. And if I were a betting man, once he signs long term, his predisposition towards injury proneness will once again rear its ugly head.
