If they're really going to do it, they should trade Cro too. I think last year was the best year he's going to have going forward.
I'd love for it to be TB. I think they have the most to offer us from a pick perspective. They also do have actual players they could include such as Blount and possibly a throw away of Aurellious Benn. I think Eagles are also in the mix and could include Foles. Dark horse to me is MINN. I think contrary to popular talk SF is not in the mix.
If their first is involved he would be a nice part of the deal. If they aren't parting with their first they can beat it.
Excellent post. Tom Brady to Randy Moss? Revis is worth a lot. Tom Brady to Wes Welker, Gronk, Aaron Hernandez and Brandon Lloyd? Revis is just one excellent cover guy back there and the other guys will kill you.
If the Jets get Foles as any significant part of the deal just remember who his OC was last year and who got to both mold him and observe his play and potential from a seat closer than anybody else.
Could be...Just as you say I don't see what they would offer us, and how they would be able to lock him up long term. What does their cap look like? It's hard to imagine with Snyder they have ample space, but at the same time Snyder's a reason to assume they'll pay Revis whatever he wants.
Washington supposedly is going to make a run at Talib accoridng to pro football talk I think. Would be an interesting destination, but I don't think they have any 1st rounders after the RGIII trade last year
If it means not getting a 3rd and instead getting Foles paired with their #1, I think it's something to consider. Since the Eagles themselves value Foles as 3rd round trade value.
Most teams aren't going 5 wide all that often. With Cromartie, Revis and KW the other team is basically stuck throwing to their 3rd option (with KW covering) or fourth option. Off the top of my head, I recall them throwing a lot at Cro or KW which isn't a bad deal for us defensively. So having Revis isn't just about shutting down one guy, it's the whole package of having a beefed up secondary. I thought they would have been great last year if Revis stayed on the field with Landry. I don't think the bottom line is his lack of value because he's a CB. I think his contract demands are over the top. Granted maybe he'd take less than 16M, but the fact that they're starting there along with the history of holdouts makes me lean towards us getting rid of him. I'd be pretty good with the Jets getting him back at 11-12M per if they could do so, and shipping cro instead. It just seems like that won't happen, mostly because the front office has had enough of the Revis agents BS.
This, good riddance. He isnt a Jet, hes hes his own isolated self. I honestly never felt like he was part of this team,
