This thread is just for published Darrelle Revis trade rumors. I figured it might be fun to look back at what the media was saying and when. I'm only including links where a source indicates that trade talks are rumored or the potential partner is inquiring. I'll kick it off with what we've heard so far. Jan 25th, 2013: Seahawks highly interested in Darrelle Revis. http://www.fieldgulls.com/latest-ne...-rumors-seahawks-reportedly-highly-interested Jan 25th, 2013: 49ers are highly interested in Darrelle Revis. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...de-talk-getting-fired-up?campaign=Twitter_atl March 6th, 2013: Revis draws Falcons interest. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...darrelle-revis-draws-atlanta-falcons-interest March 6th, 2013: 49ers, Falcons not interested in Darrelle Revis. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...revis-doesnt-look-to-be-joining-49ers-falcons March 6th, 2013: Don't discount Bucs-Darrelle Revis rumors. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bucs/dont-discount-bucs-darrelle-revis-rumors/2107350 March 10th, 2013: Broncos interested in Darrelle Revis? http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/je...ins?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter March 10th, 2013: Broncos have no intention of acquiring Darrelle Revis. https://twitter.com/Jeff_Legwold/status/310774005743353856 March 10th, 2013: Eagles pursuing Darrelle Revis? http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/196645611.html That's where we're at right now. Notably there was no reaction from the Bucs to the floating of the rumor.
Lets be real there are alot of good corners available in FA and they brings down the value of Revis......No one wants to pay him that money and give up a ton of drafts picks. I hope im wrong cause I would love the jets to get a 1st and maybe 3rd or 2nd and a 5th or something to start rebuilding this team! He wants too much money and holds out when he doesnt get it and no one wants to deal with that!
yeah i don't fully understand why we don't do that. can someone seriously describe why we can't trade cromartie and then sign revis to a long term deal?
Because Revis wants ALOT more money. Because Revis is a pussy and will just hold out again when doesnt get his way. Because we can get more from a Revis trade than Cro. Because we did fine without Revis last year
we gave him a band aid contract in 2010 and he didnt even threaten to hold out. there was rumors, but thats all they were. Rumors.
Profootballtalk: Jets have good offer on table for Revis. (All Revis Talk Here) http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/11/jets-have-good-offer-on-table-for-revis/
Like I said from the beginning, he is going to retire a Jet. The biggest reason being his hit on the cap if we were to trade him this year. Idzik is a great numbers guy. He is not going to let a trade hit our cap like that and he sure as hell is not going to let him become a free agent next year. Revis will be signed to a long contract and if any corner were to be traded, it will be Cromartie. Although, at this point, I don't think Cromartie or Revis are going anywhere
The timing makes sense, since if whoever it is trades for Revis they will be out of the CB free agent market and maybe other positions as well.
I just dont understand the reasoning behind not allowing other clubs to talk to and negotiate with Revis. What is the thinking here?
i just want this whole debacle over with, its making me sad. i want to know where we stand and just get it done
yeh they are willing to hear offers. still no discussion with revis or his agents. just received an offer..
I completely read this the wrong way LOL Well, then my original thought was completely wrong. I guess we are willing to take the big hit this year to get more picks in the draft.
I wouldn't mind giving Revis away for the right price. I also read that we were in talks with Rodgers Cromartie also. I wouldn't mind Revis gone and both Cromarties playing at each end
