I want to know how much they re-signed him for. They gave Hartline big money so I doubt Moore got too much.

I find this pretty damn strange. I mean he could have started in a couple of spots, and definitely competed for a job at the very least. I mean its not like he has a chance in Miami barring injury, Tannehill's their future. Could they have paid him that much more?

Thank god, now the fans can stop talking about how impressive this guy is and how the Jets need to sign him.

    That's what I'm thinking.

Eather he really likes Miami, and doesn't really want to start, or they just overspent on a back-up QB.

Actually, thinking about it, it has to be both. This is the perfect, perfect off-seasom to hit Free Agency. There's multiple QB needy teams and many consider him to be the best Free Agency option. So they must of really just spent some money on him and he must really like it down there.

We'll see soon if it's both, or if he's just really that stupid.

He got 8 million for 2 years! Pretty good pay for a backup. Hopefully the Dolphins will keep making moves like this and eat up enough of their cap so they can't sign Jennings or Wallace. :breakdance:

    Another hefty contract. Puzzling.

$4 million a year to live in Florida and not even play? I definitely did something wrong with my life. Haha.

Not even close, we still have 32 mil in the cap and assuming the draft to take 7 mil in caps space, we still have 25 mil which is plenty.

Love having Matt ... the money is a bit much but he proved last year against the Jets that he could come in and do damage.

He must've known that he could've signed with and probably started for Arizona, Minnesota, or the Jets.

    I like the move ultimately.

That 25 Mill can go quick if Ireland decides to resign more of the Dolphins own free agents at those prices.

I don't think Jake is coming back and Clemons would be the only other guy that I think would attract decent money. Sean Smith is long gone too.

If Reggie Bush came back, it wouldn't be for the 5 million a year he got the last 2 but more like 3 million.

I doubt he returns though unfortunately.

Ok. That still means you guys need a LT or RT depending on what side Martin plays, a S, a CB, a TE, and a RB, unless you guys are rolling with Miller and Thomas who gets injured all of the time.

I'm not saying that you guys won't be able to sign either Jennings or Wallace ,but just pointing out that your cap space will go pretty quick when you start to fill needs.

It could be worse. You could be us and have all of those needs without any money.

    Why?

To me, this is a dumb move. You already have a starting QB. Tie the money to another position. Yes he might be better than Shitchez. But you aren't trying to be better than Jets. You should aim for Superbowl you bottom feeders.

    Insurance policy ...

I agree its a little much in terms of monry but having a capable backup serves many purposes. Tannehill knows Moore can produce if he cant. Moore can come in and win if Ryan goes down.

Ask tue Bears a couple years ago what a backup QB means or many other teams for that matter!
