Say what you will about Woody. he ought to be commended that John Dorsey is not the GM here, between Alex Smith and this, blowing a boatload of guaranteed fiat paper for a punter:

It just means Idzik didn't have the chance to fail at the magnitude of John Dorsey as of yet.

 

Dorsey wasn't coming here. He's in KC because his wife is a bigwig in a law firm there. She was tele-commuting and flying into KC regularly for meetings anyway and when they offered him the job he took it.

It was going to be stay in GB and wait for the job there or go to KC for him and he got lucky and they offered him the promotion.
