Don't put anything past the Woodmeister.

They'll play whatever games they think they can play to sell 20 more seats. Remember the year where we paid our parking fees as a second invoice AFTER the game tickets were paid for? That's because they wanted to get ticket money in before screwing the Upper Deckers with the orange passes. At that point we couldn't re-decide not to renew. Then last Spring we had the Tebow signing.

This year, you're right, there's not much they can do, but in this case they just want to move as far away as possible from the negative press the 2012 season gave them.

Are u kidding me?? It's douchebag like u why we are in this mess to begin with. Why buy such a RIDICULOUS PSL? $700 a tix too? And now your gonna default.?? Nobody was buying the lower end zone so they lowered prices. People aren't buying upper deck seats, they lowered prices. If u didn't cream in your pants at the chance to buy ludicrous football tix u wouldn't be in this mess. You agreed to it, you pay for it.

this is EXACTLY correct. another guy who wants to be cool and buys some shit that is COMPLETELY overpriced and now he wants to just walk away. i HOPE they come after every single person who did this type of douchey behavior.

in short, you arent special, you should have thought about this type of stuff before you overpaid for a shitty right to buy seats and you should now deal with the consequences of said bad decisions.

and then the people who did it the right way and bought shit they COULD afford will suffer by having lending rules change and become far more difficult AND housing prices will be driven down by all the foreclosed homes.

i have personal beef with anyone who defaulted on their home because they were a douchebag living beyond their means. fucking sociopaths.

First off, thanks Uncle Fester and I hope your limp gets better.

Also, 314 is way off base when he states, "This is a bad place to come with that portfolio fester. Good luck."

This thread is, in fact, a great place for you to come. We've been waiting for someone like you because you're one of the first (if not THE first) to come here and say, "Perhaps I made a mistake. I am 6K into my 30K commitment and am 'seriously' considering walking away."

You use the word "seriously" in terms of walking away and I think many more realize that being committed to paying all this extra money for a no-show product on the field is insanity.

Thanks for sharing your concerns about paying for a Jets PSL.

Wow - calling me a douchebag for buying four $7500 PSLs? Very hostile.

The fact is that I love the new stadium and I love my seats, but I hate the product that the jets are putting on the field and I don't see a turn-around in the near future. While this does not change my support for the team, this turns into a financial decision - it is much more cost effective to purchase tickets in the aftermarket than it is being a season ticket holder (at least in my case). Face value of my tickets is $130 and with the annual PSL loan payment, face value becomes $200. If the Jets put a quality product on the field, it would be worth $200/game for me.

With regards to walking away - I spoke with the ticket office a couple of months ago and the person I spoke with indicated that I would essentially be able to walk away without penalty (but I obviously lose whatever PSL money I paid).

You're not alone in your disappointment, or you're feelings of making an unwise decision to purchase PSLs, when better seats can be had much cheaper on the secondary market.
I am currently struggling with the decision to, for the first time in 32 seasons, not follow through on my commitment to continue to be a season ticket holder.
I currently have 4 seats, at $4000 per seat PSLs, and cannot even give these tickets away during the season, let alone cover expenses.
It's very sad for me because I started as a kid going to games with my dad(still do) and was looking forward to carrying on the tradition with my 3yo son.
It's really sad that the real fans are being priced out of being able to support the team they love, along with introducing new fans to the experience of being a true JETS fan.

I'm not one to judge people on their purchases. We live in the USA where you have the freedom to buy what you want. I don't feel bad for you though that you now have second thoughts because of the product on the field. Every team will have ups and downs. Even the Packers went 6-10 a couple of times with Favre.

The Jets made a big mistake when setting up their PSL situation. They ran no credit checks, took no social security numbers, etc. The Giants told their fans if they wanted to finance they could contact Wachovia and set up their own finance plan through them but the Giants wanted no part of it. Otherwise there were 4 installments all paid well before the new stadium opened.

Woody Johnson had a semi-bright idea (I hate the guy for the record). Instead he let you finance through the Jets at 6% or 8% interest. In my opinion when you can finance a car for 2.5% interest that interest rate was ridiculous. Either way he basically was banking on getting back that interest in his own pocket and acted like a bank. Also could look at it as putting money in bonds instead of stocks and getting an 8% return for the next 15 years.

Only problem is the PSL market has been like the housing market and now everyone's PSLs are under water.

There are some people I know who ended up in crappy situations with their PSLs. When I say crappy I'm talking deaths in family, loss of job, job transfer, etc. Then there are those who bought because of the AFC championship run and now are mad about the record or bought as an investment (would have been better off giving Enron your 401k) and are now screwed.

Wow! So the Jets said you can walk away? Interesting. Everyone has been posting here for years now that they will come after you...that it will ruin your credit etc etc.

..but now we learn all you lose is the money you paid in. So if you paid in 6 grand towards the PSL over three years and walk away all it means is that you paid extra to sit in a good seat.

It was like the Jets scalped the tix.

1st off calling u a douchebag was bc I read $6k towards $30,000 PSL. Which I thought I bought a 50 yard line club seat at $30,000 and $700 a game tix. Now that u say u bought 4 $7500 PSL and want to walk away your just a tool. Man up and sell them don't default. That's lowlife bullshit. And I hope the Jets go after a default account

If people didn't cream in their pants over our Bret Favre hoax or our 2009 Rex we will kick the worlds ass speeches and just sat back and thought about it as an investment. Bc that's what it is. A commitment an agreement to pay the Jets X amount of dollars. If people used their heads prices would have dropped.

No one suckers me. And I don't give a shit if someone wants us to tell him it's okay. He'll certainly never hear it from me, that's for sure.

I like hearing stories like this and the more we call guys out for coming on here and telling us their woes, the more you discourage them from coming here and telling us their woes.

I like hearing their woes. So everyone needs to stop calling them douchebags. Call them nicer names like jerkoff or asshole, but douchebag is impolite and out of the question and I won't have it I tell you!
