That would be half the point, the other half being an indictment of his former coordinators, and the Fzo.

They spent a high draft pock that was green and played one way at USC, then tried to force a round peg into a square hole.

Of course, which is why if there is no advantage to cutting him this year the team should keep him. If Mark could just cut down on the fumbles and ints and improve his accuracy by a couple of percentage points, that would boost his other numbers greatly. He may never make that leap though.

You can't keep throwing good money after bad. If Sanchez can't win the starting job against real competition this year, or if he stinks up the joint, the Jets need to move on. Either way they need to bring someone in to push him that the coach would have some comfort level with starting.

You talk as if Sanchez is a robot that was being programmed by his coordinators. You put way more blame on the coaches than you should.

I agree. It is not the fault of the coaching staff that Sanchez can't hit a guy in the numbers on a screen pass or a slant and give them ability to run after the catch.

True. The Sanchez Fans who blame the OC's are like saying no one on the jet CS ever told Sanchez to remember to look out for the safeties. Duh.

If any of you have the Buffalo game on DVR, just listen to Gannon. He's exasperated watching Sanchez play the position. As a former QB and league MVP, he can't believe the ridiculous throws he's seeing from Sanchez. He can't come right out and say the guy sucks, but he's biting his tongue so badly, you can practically smell the blood from your couch.

It's not the staff, It's not the receivers. It's the quarterback.

Gannon said point blank while covering that game that the Jets had to "stabilize the quarterback position" in order to have "any chance" of competing. It could not have been clearer from the context of his words that he was intimating that Sanchez needs to either be replaced or drastically improve.

You assume a team will take Revis

The teams with the cap to pay him tend to have high draft picks and would rather not trade for him and just sign him when he hits the market.

The teams that would trade their picks for him likely won't because they will be unable to give him the deal he wants and as a result basically rent him and lose out when he wants 16 mil and a team in FA like the Browns decides to give it to him.

You do have the 2013 mandatory spending demand for cap working out in your favor so perhaps you can get something done, but still its unlikely. Revis is a hot commodity no doubt, but his personality, holdout tendencies, and willingness to leave for money do cripple your bargaining power

Rofl, his personality is fine, and after watching culliver flail around like a fish out of water in the superbowl some team will give up a decent pick just for a rental.

    L. Tomlinson says hi and slant is actually a pass Sanchez consistently makes but becomes predictable.

This happens on multiple teams every year in the NFL.

No. Not when it means you've wasted a second top ten pick on the least several years, because your team, and QB had a really bad year, when everyone acknowledges that Sparano was horrid as an OC.

Every team that starts a rookie does that, but they aren't generally turning a good player into the equivalent of Vernon Gholston.

No it isn't. Hitting a slant consistently doesn't mean that the WR is able to catch it. It means consistently hitting it so that the WR can run after the catch and doesn't have to reach above his head for it or to his trailing hip. Sanchez routinely throws it high or behind.

No question. He was being as diplomatic as possible, but you could tell he wanted to scream into the mic ... "THIS GUY IS ATROCIOUS!!!!"

BTW ... where is JUNC to explain to us how Gannon doesn't know the game??

The Pick 6 he threw in that game, had to be one of the 10 worst passes thrown in the entire league last season. And I bet he'd have another two or three on that list.

This may be the dumbest statement I have read.

Fine? A guy who has held out on you 2x now and threatened a third time for more money is fine, and let's be honest would have if that clause in his contract didnt exist. Thats fine?! Only extremely poorly run franchise would give you a decent pick for him because renting him is the type of decision that ruins franchises, and those that can pay him have no reason to give up a pick for him since they can just wait for him to leave you for deeper pockets. (Pray Oakland does it)

Face it dude, he is the Dwight Howard of the nfl.

Edit: Seriously that may just be the perfect comparison for him.
