Uh-uh. I wouldn't personally mind this, but... not a chance. The Patriots have had issues bringing free agent WRs into their offense. If Wallace had trouble grasping the offense, it would be a colossal waste of cap space. They won't take a risk on him. I'd be shocked if they even have him in for a visit. He's a UFA, I believe, and unlikely to be resigned because of the money the 49ers have tied up in Vernon Davis. (At least that's what I've read, but you never know how those things will go.) You're right, too... very versatile guy. He'll be a nice addition wherever he goes.
Wow I'm actually shocked, very good news. This guy is still in his prime. I'm sure there's going to be a big market for his services. The guy is a gamer who can help a team in multiple positions. The Jets need players like him from top notch organizations. He's gonna get a nice contract from some team.
If we try hard enough we could grab him I'm not too surprised though with a decrease in there star TE Vernon Davis I would see the back up not meaning that much to the miners ...he is gold to us though.
Re: OP Good rule of thumb re: Steelers FA's If the Steelers are letting him go, it generally isn't worth the bother. Two good recent examples: Faneca & Plaxico
Mike Wallace is a pussy baby acting little bitch. NO THANKS. We already have Tone time for that bullshit.
I can see him ending up in Indy. Fast track, need for a young top WR. There were rumors of him being traded there this season but they went with a CB instead. IMO Indy is the perfect fit for Wallace.
Yep, but unfortuantely people get ill because he played like crap under Sporanos explosive system and was hurt...
I see him as a straight ahead, go route type of guy. He doesn't run the entire route tree. How is that a WCO guy?
Adam SchefterVerified account @AdamSchefter League-wide expectation is that WR Mike Wallace winds up in Miami with the Dolphins.
Sheft saying he is the only player he sees getting a 100 million dollar contract. God I hope the Dolphins give him a 13 / yr contract
Joe Caporoso @TurnOnTheJets Friendly reminder from my earlier tweet - Mike Wallace had NINE more receiving yards than Jeremy Kerley last year
... Just on NFLNW looking at 30+ guaranteed. When they asked the beat writer about the rest, he chuckled and said "we have to verify it, but lets just say its ALOT of money" Wallace is just about a done deal to Miami, but I'm eager to hear the costs.
