When I was younger I absolutely loved it, regardless of whether the Jets had a 1-15 or 3-13 or 8-8 season, it was always fun to watch the big game. The hype, the various backstories, guys trying to cement their legend, the commercials etc. I've seen so many teams come and go, the Elway led Broncos who couldn't get the job done, the good and then the lucky (1990) Vagiants, the underrated 1992 Skins, the Bills, the dynasty Cowboys, the dynasty 9ers, the dynasty Patriots, the forever solid Steelers and Pack popping up every 4-5 years or so...the Bucs finally winning one (THE FUCKING BUCS!) and then the Cards somehow making it, the Rams, Titans, etc It's just getting depressing seeing everybody getting a turn in the spotlight. Some teams had their turn in the 80's and 90's...fell apart into oblivion and then came back again to get enormous strokes of good luck (ahem, vagiants) now I'm watching the Ravens get another turn...and low and behold here come the fucking 49ers again! I'm sick of this shit. I'm sick of fucking god keeping us under his boot...all our miracle runs come short (09, 10) meanwhile teams like the Pats of the early 2000's and Giants get multiple gifts after gifts. I used to love watching the Super Bowl, thinking "yea one day it will be the Jets, hey when you look at the odds we're due to make it sometime soon" at least once in the next 30 years. well 30 years later, still not a single appearance. This just seems like a party we'll never get invited too. Ever again Mark my words. Before you know it the Bills will be back again. And so will the fucking fish. And we'll still be coming up empty
No, I'm still hopefuly the Jets will be back in the big game in my lifetime. It's depressing that the Jets constantly disapoint this fan base, but I don't feel depressed about the Super Bowl being played. I'm excited to relax, watch the game, drink, and eat some good food.
Not really. Good football is always fun to watch. It also serves as a measuring stick as to how far your team is from the 2 teams that are playing for the championship.
Im pissed during the years where we had a legitimate shot to make it. Like the first two years with Rex and 1998
Last year I was depressed because whoever won would be bad for us 09-10 however were our best years in recent memory and I think we're not that far off from that
The only thing depressing about the superbowl is that once it's over we have to wait so long for football again.
Why would this make a Jets fan feel better? "Well, at least there are more pathetic franchises than us." That's a strange line of thinking IMO.
Bitch bitch bitch. If you cant enjoy football because your team cant get to the superbowl go be a patriots fan then. Have some friends over, fire up the grill, down a brewskie or 12 and lighten up.
It's not that bad... At least we did win the most important superbowl of them all. I have to feel bad for Cardinals, Lions, Vikings, Bills, Chargers, Seahawks, etc fans. I still think getting there and losing is worse than not getting there. I'll take a AFCCG loss over a SB loss any day...Unless it were to a AFCE opponent.
Right after isnt so bad because there is the combine. I wish the draft were a bit earlier. The time between the draft and training camp sucks.
I'm rooting for the team that kicked our ass in the first round of the playoffs. AFC all day everyday.
It is depressing, but what can you do. I go to bed thinking that the jets will probably get to the Super Bowl at least once in the next 30 years.... But then again it's been almost 50 since their last appearance....
No...After the last decade of utter horseshit mediocrity, I've made peace with the fact that the Dolphins will never win a Super Bowl in my lifetime, even though I haven't even hit 30 yet... It's nice to enjoy good football.
I never really get emotional about the super bowl. Since the Jets aren't in it , it comes down to a couple of things. One , Jim Harbaugh is a Dick , so Obviously we would go with the Ravens. They are also in the AFC , so that's number two reason to Pick the Ravens. Id personally like to see Reed win one. Its unfortunate that the Double homicide suspect get's to go along for the ride. hmy:
This is the first time in five years I'm 'not' depressed about the Super Bowl. Doesn't mean I have any interest in the game though, there isn't much for the casual fan to get into.
