Mark played some very good games last year but again sucked coming down the stretch when he needed to step up. That Cardinals game and Tennessee game where just ugly.

Mark needs to learn to hold onto the ball his fumbling is worse than Dave Krieg.

I wonder how many fumbles the rest of our team had combined. It seems as though I counted maybe 10 or so fumbles among the team throughout the season.

Mark has probably fumbled more than our entire team. That is a problem.

Yea, pretty much. Good teams put together through trades and free agency. Then the GM thinks he's the shit and goes overboard. Team then gets ruined by bad drafting, bad trades, and horrible contracts for grossly underperforming players. One big difference, the Steve Phillips Mets actually won a league championship.

Maybe an open competition to find one Wide Receiver worth writing home about? Outside of Kerley there is................ and ............... and ............... and ......... How about TE also? And RB.

    But lets crucify the QB.

Phillips had a 2 year run, tannenbaum took over we made the playoffs then he retooled and had us in position for a run before we got Favre'd in '08 then we made 2 title games.

We've had some good drafts, you want to say some of the contracts were bad but that happens w/ every team. He made some excellent trades and we had good drafts. There's no Mo Vaughn here.

He made the WS and his team didn't compete, his nemesis also was eliminated by another team or else they wouldn't have made it. The Jets faced their nemesis on the road and BEAT them up.

I must have been Drunk when I wrote that.

The fact is you hate Rex because he did not play Tebow. Stop saying you are a Jets fan when you care more about how Tebow does than the Jets.

The Jets ran the ball a total 25 times, that's about the average rush attempts for a team.

Are we STILL saying this in 2013? Even when he had "weapons" (flight boys, LT, Keller) he wasn't good.

he was good when he had weapons, keep in mind Holmes missed the first 4 games and Cotch missed games due to injury but when healthy he had us w/in 6 pts of the SB.

Over the hill LT and average Keller. Mark was good enough to win and make big plays when he needed. He had your typical up and downs of a young QB. When Mark starts going bad he goes bad confidence suffers starts forcing balls etc.

Mark is at his best when he completes a forced ball he gets confidence and gets on a roll. This is why he has a chance in the WC offense with a proven coordinator. Holmes and Kerley will have stay healthy and Hill will have take a step forward.

The fact is Mark is not the guaranteed starter nor should he be. I believe having a vet QB that could have played a few games when mark was struggling would have dome wonders for Sanchez in the long run but that point is mute. Because of Marks contract and draft position and the wins he has put up he will get one more chance. We will see what he does no more excuses for Mark.

I know what good quarterback play looks like and he was NEVER good. He just did enough for you to say that if he ever puts it together he CAN be good.

When I watch what Luck, RGIII, and Wilson did this year, THAT was good QB play, not Sanchez rookie or 2nd seasons that you claim were 'good'.

I'll give him his credit for making plays to help us win games. But he was inconsistent, but I gave him a pass because he was a 1st/2nd year qb. After an average 2010 season I expected him to take the next step in his 3rd year but he regressed. I don't know if the wc offense will make him a better qb considering that the Jets were already running plays where he threw short intermediate passes. I want Sanchez to go into a season knowing he will not start or even compete for the job, then if he gets a chance I hope that he appreciates it.

You clearly don't if you think he was never good. Just for fun, tell me who the good QBs are(besides the obvious Brady, Rodgers, Peyton, Brees).

The 3 rooks this year were great, let's see them sustain. last I check they combined for 1 playoff win, Sanchez had 2 his rookie year.

    1. I will never discredit any of the positives he did throughout his time here in NY. His game against the Texans in 09 had me excited (and fooled) thinking that we finally had a franchise QB. His redzone INT against the Saints was the beginning of what we saw from him routinely every year since that season. Outside of a few games and a few plays here and there he has been far too inconsistent. His best season was 2010, and he was average that year.

    2. You want me to name good QB's? Okay sure. (im not gonna name rookies)

    Joe Flacco
    Matt Ryan
    Eli Manning
    Tony Romo
    Phillip Rivers
    Cam Newton
    Andy Dalton
    Jay Cutler
    Matthew Stafford
    Colin Kaepernick

    Slightly above average

    Alex Smith
    Josh Freeman
    Sam Bradford
    Matt Schaub
    Christian Ponder

Would you have said Flacco before this postseason? He's been an upa nd down reg season QB and was a disappointment this reg season plus Sanchez has been a better postseason QB than Flacco.

Romo has 1 career playoff win w/ a team that was considered the favorite for many years.

Eli has 2 SBs now so I'm not debating that.

Rivers has less playoff wins than Sanchez despite playing w/ MUCH more talent in a weaker division.

Let's relax w/ Newton, 2 years in and hasn't even contended.

Dalton, 0-2 in postseason and he's been terrible. Has ZERO TDs and 4 INTs in 2 postseason games, Sanchez has 3 INTs in 6 postseason games.

    Cutler has 1 playoff win

Stafford- zero playoff wins and the best WR in the game to throw to

kaepernick is on a great team right now, he's on a nice run.

    Freeman has never contended
Smith has 1 playoff win in 4 more seasons
I think Bradford will be better
Schaub is another fantasy guy, can't play in big games. 1 postseason app, 1 postseason win.
Ponder has done nothing yet other than hand it to AP

You, like most fans, seem to like good fantasy QBs. People get fooled by Rivers or Schaub putting up garbage time #s to make them look better than they are but if they can't play in January what good are they?
