Rex made this official and also announced a number of other coaching decisions. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets...3Oby0EwC9yOjM?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Jets
Ray Lewis for LB coach. He can also be used to motivate Sanchez into throwing fewer INTs and fumbling the ball less. Win/win.
Dennis Thurman is a great coach. What a shitty post man do you even watch this team. We just had 2 pro bowlers come out of our secondary while 1 probowler missed the entire season. Hmm who coaches the secondary again. Oh yeah Dennis Thurman the coach of our number #2 in the league pass D.
I can see it now, Ray Lewis yelling at Sancho to stop making shit throws or he will stab him in the neck.
Our secondary is going to take us to the playoffs? If that was the case we would have been there this year. Just because Revis was out does not mean we were going to change things around. This team has taken a step back big time in 1 year. It starts with Sanchez and goes from there on offense primarily.
The problem is Thurman might be a great coach but he won't be making the decisions. He still won't have the LB's to have an elite defense and our offense still sucks so the D will still be on the field more. Pettine left for a reason and while I think Thurman will do a fine job with what he has there is something going on that we don't know about that would cause the fracturing.
I don't think we have to look for conspiracies. Rex got all the credit for the defense, not Pettine. Pettine had to get out, and if he thinks that Rex will be fired after next season (a not unreasonable thought)then Pettine is much better off getting out now than as part of a purge of all of Rex's men next year.
Rex will have no trouble taking Thurman under his wing and molding him into a top NFL defensive coordinator. Thurman already has the most important part of a Rex Ryan defense down (DBs and Safetys).
So? What does any of this have to do with promoting Thurman to DC. Should we complain about that because he doesn't have the pieces? Thurman has always been a big part of our D and deserves the position free of criticism from morons.
What does any of this have to do with your incessant crying? Why are you talking about the offense? This thread is about Thurman being hired and you being a dumb ass for complaining about it.
So predicting the Jets being 4-12 is me being a dumb ass in a thread about Thurman? How the fuck is that wrong? He is not going to turn this team around...Oh wonderful, he did great work with Cromartie...How awful was Kyle Wilson? I think having Landry and Bell as my safety's should alone make my secondary good without being a guru at my job...I talked about the offense after my initial post because this whole off season thus far has been uninspiring for the Jets, Stop acting like a fucking prick with your assertions and understand something, if you think every hire is going to gracefully change things then you are in for a sad awakening again.
You're acting like an idiot. What reason do you have for us to believe that we will magically go 4-12 just because Thurman got promoted...? Seriously, do you even think when you type this shit up? If were going to go 4-12, it damn sure won't be because of our defense. But, let me guess, you wanted to blow the entire organization up and have Woody sell the team. That's the only thing that would fulfill your blood lust.
So explain how this move will make the team worse. Please drop the details. How is this a bad move? I know the offense took a step back last year, but this is a move made on an already good defense. In reality it doesn't affect anything on the offense, which is clearly the side of the ball that needs major improvement. The off season hasn't even begun yet. At least wait until after the draft before making ridiculous doomsday predictions. We went 6-10 with our 2 best playmakers injured and poor QB play. This move doesn't affect that so whining in this thread is pretty much useless. It's a good move.
