Ha ha thats funny bro. They ain't gonna do shit for u but raise the ticket prices. I'm sorry. They need to fuck somebody. And guess what.... Woody spells that PSL.
And leave the upper deck a ghost town? Problem was back in the late 80s early 90s basically every seat was $20. Eventually the upper and lower levels were $25 and mezanine was $35. Was a bunch of crap because a guy on the 50 yard line lower level was paying the same price as the guy in the last row of the upper deck in the end zone. Even in the last year of the old stadium I was paying $75 to sit in the corner end zone and Firemen Ed was paying $105 I believe to sit in his seats. It became a bit more fair but still had some room for improvement. The new stadium came along and not only did they have PSLs but they jumped ticket prices by anywhere from 20-700%. The Giants have still kept all their seat prices the same. The Jets jumped PSL prices in a lot of areas by $5 after year one. I can't see them doing that again because of defaults. I can see them lowering upper deck because well anyone who wants to walk away can walk away and there's nothing they can do to stop us other than beg us and invite us to events to see that hot rep Christie Upton and have her show us some T & A in hopes we won't go. While I can't see them lowering PSL prices I can see them throwing in some kind of incentives. The big thing is a lot of seats are held by brokers. Everyone says the Jets will be desperate but let's all be honest here the Steelers game will get at least two times face value, the Saints and Raiders game 1.5 times face value.
337 I agree with just about all you wrote, thing is as far as getting face or above face for raiders or steelers I don't know that many raider or steeler fans at least not enough to fill an almost emptyupperdeck
Remember that U R prepaying the parking so if U do not go to the game U R losing that money as well while it is small bucks it is still bucks non the less. I meant to use "to what" as I was saying what should I charge for my seats for the 2013 season. If it what U said in your last paragraph is true, true then maybe there is hope for U yet
I think you have to stop wearing NYJ green colored glasses & stop drinking that green koolade cause you are on another planet with your post. JMHO I think U to need to see a licensed MD ASAP to deprogram U of your man love to the NYJs JMHO
Do U think this is some socialist state since what U R proposing is the dogma of such a state? Why should PSLers who were stupid enough to purchase PSLs get relief from the UDers?
Interesting proposition but there are several serious flaws. First of all, the organization is already in a P.R mess. The media is all over the walkaways. They're concentrating the attention on the PSL walkaways b/c that makes the most interesting news, but they're aware of the UD walkaways too. Secondly, Woody will never reduce the PSL seats b/c he doesn't have to. But if anything, he has to with the UD b/c we're not wearing handcuffs. The saddest part of the P.R. nitghtmare is, IMO, that we haven't seen the tip of the iceberg yet. It's only January. Wait until Springtime when people start really considering their options and the checks are due. This is going to be a bloodbath for the NYJs. And it's not like you can take from one group to subsidize the other, because the entire stadium will be in mass, chaotic exodus, PSLs and non-PSLs. Nothing will be safe, from $700 seats to $95. 8-8 adn then 6-10 will do that to you, but what is worse is, the NYJs don't seem to have a clue how to fix the losing slide we're in. The tricks and gimmicks are not going to work this year. No longer will we put up with the Brett Favre, Plaxico offseason headlines as a bandaid. So people are looking at this and will be looking at this even more as the deadline for payment nears, and then all hell is going to befall the ticket office, who I predict will be in complete disarray and panic mode by April. They'll be reaching into their old bag of worn out tricks and gimmicks and this time they'll be totally worthless as incentives. The only hope is to pull out brand new incentives, real ones... meaningful ones. Like 25% reductions in all seat prices, dropping Preseasons and heavy discounts on parking, like $$12-15 for Yellow. Their phones will be ringing off the hook, but not the kind of calls they are looking for. It'll be from terribly pissed off, disgruntled STHers wanting to know what they're going to do to keep them, and I am not talking about free hot dog vouchers.
I think the only thing that will turn this around for Woody is finding the next Brady, Finding the next Belly & producing a product on the field that is a real serious SB contender each & every year ala the NEPs
With the Sanchez and Holmes contract, the draft is the only way we will be able to improve and that takes years to come to fruition. There is no short term fix for this team, if you are keeping your seasons, then expect another down year and be willing to stick with this team. We have deal with these 2 contracts before we can sign any significant FA's. Its an absolute mess. No one can fix this for 2013, that's why keeping Rex was stupid, this team will be below .500 so why not start over now instead of next year. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...io-holmes-too-pricey-for-new-york-jets-to-cut http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/e...akes-it-almost-impossible-for-jets-to-cut-him
That is why I say fans now in there 50s will be retiring & enrolling in social security (if still available in 10 years) when the NYJs MAYBE again contend for a SB
Well, RR basically benched Tim Tebow. Now, of course, TT is not Brady. But as 314 said months ago, we should have inserted Tebow to at least try him out in real games and see what he could do. Now we'll truly never know. And in the Mike Westhoff interview, it came out that RR NEVER EVEN PRACTICED A TIM TEBOW PACKAGE with him under center. So then we had NO CHANCE of seeing how he could handle Game Day situations for 4 quarters. Pretty stupid, if you ask me, if only from a B/U quarterback situation. Suppose Sanchez got hurt and then GMAC goes down? He would have HAD TO put in TT, a quarterback who's never taken a singel snap in practice with the #1s. That's just plain stupid, IMO. And another thing. Because of this, we've ruined TTs career. Absolutely destroyed the kid. And this after he did everything we asked of him, including putting his health on the line on suicide runs on STs. So Rex Ryan MIGHT BE THAT STUPID. He probably wouldn't bench Brady but he certainly benched TT for all practical purposes, and then stayed with El Guapo until he stunk up the field but good and destroyed our season. Woody Johnson ought to have at least questioned his HC on that... well, ought to, if he had a lick of football sense himself. But of course, he does not. We are so fucked it's incredible.
Bengals lowering season tickets prices even after making the playoffs 2 straight years http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/14/bengals-cut-ticket-prices-again/ Despite the first consecutive playoff appearances in non-strike seasons in franchise history, the Bengals know that it’s not easy to sell tickets to Paul Brown Stadium. So they’re cutting prices. Again. Specifically, prices for season tickets will be cut in 20 sections of the stadium, from $50 to $40 per game in some locations, and from $60 to $50 in others. “As an organization we are committed to having a full stadium for every game to give us a competitive advantage,” Bengals executive V.P. Katie Blackburn said. “We are coming off a good year, we have been to the playoffs two years in a row, and we have five 2012 playoff teams coming to Cincinnati this season. We believe that our 2013 pricing model, in conjunction with the strong home schedule, will be very attractive to fans and will make tickets available at the right prices to help us to reach that goal.” The Bengals decided in 2012 not to take advantage of a rule that allows teams to reduce the blackout threshold from 100 percent of all non-premium tickets to as low as 85 percent. Blackouts were reduced, but the team still struggled at times to sell out the stadium. Season-ticket plans range from $40 per seat to $85. The packages are available at 9:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
The NFL metamophasis from an attendance league to a TV league is almost complete. You have to give fans a really good deal to show up now and you can't expect them to pay a premium anymore because they'll just go watch it at home without any impact on their fandom
btw just made my 1st phone call to the ticket office. nice and pleasant i was wasnt nasty angry or upset. i asked if the plan was in plan to lower season tickets next year. i told them that i couldnt give away tix and they are getting too expensive for me and my family.and if i decide to walk away i could just cherry pick off stub hub and would be ok with that. also told him the bengals are reducing ticket prices and have been to the playoffs 2 straight years.and they start selling their packages wednesday the young man Keith was very honest and told me no one has been notified yet in the office of the plan for season tickets.and i believe him. he went over and over there has been nothing discussed about next years tickets yet and i beliebve him
Interesting article. I like the part about "a competitive advantage." What a concept! Gee, ya think Woody ever once considered that? Or is it... well... about the pocketbook. I think we already know. The Jets have the highest priced tickets in the NFL. What a joke for a 6-10 team with no rudder and no prospects for improvement.
Yes, I agree. But this is a double-edged sword. The fans are morphing too... from sitting in the rain all day to sitting in front of their 60" flatscreens.
The little douche bags are nothing but snivelling little Woody robots, programmed to be polite and honest and kept in the dark at all times. I would rather shovel shit in a manure factory than answer that dirt bags phones.
