Warmack, or Barrett Jones (if we were able to get him in the 2nd). Either one could play LG for us.

I hope Vlad starts next season. I'm not a big fan of
Slauson; and I don't think Moore has much left in the tank,
though he may still have Sanchez between his cheeks.

  3. Yeah that's a nasty duo right there. If we can trade down a few spots & pick up some picks I'm all for Mr. Womack.

Vlad will be starting with Slausen at the other guard spot.

HOWARD??? Yeah he did a better job than WFH, but there isn't a RT in the NFL that could have done as bad as WFH. Howard should be done in NY as a starter. He was inconsistent where as WFH was consistently shit.

Look at San Fran's O-Line, 3 first round picks on it.

    Build the trenches.

Yeah... just like ours in 2009 when we had 4 first round picks

But you are right, we need to rebuild the line

According to PFF, he had a pretty good season. Was rates higher than Jake Long from what I saw

I guess the level of acceptable play has dropped since I last watched football. Howard had plenty of troubles with the D when they tried to confuse him with double moves. He's ok for a week or two if we face injuries, but do we really want to repeat 2011 all over again? We need his replacement, someone this team can depend on.

I hate to say it but that's a 2 to 4 win Jets team if that happens.

Teams are developing great pass rushers at either side of the line now, RT is becoming just as important as LT, especially when there's guy's like Von Miller/ Clay Mathews playing LE/LOLB

Teams don't even need to develop the great pass rusher on both sides if he's a LB. They just move the guy from side to side and attack the weakness in the pass protection.

The Broncos destroyed Mark Sanchez in 2011 by moving Von Miller around. He was rushing from the left, right and over LG at various points in that game. That's why you can't leave an obvious talent gap hanging out there on your line. the defense will find it and put their best asset over it and make you positively bleed before they are done.

In the 2011 season opener on the first play from scrimmage for the Jet's offense the Cowboys put DeMarcus Ware over Wayne Hunter and he ran him over and sacked Sanchez. First play of the season before any film was in the can. Pure predatory profit there by the Cowboys. Identify the weak link, cut him off from the herd and eat him alive.

Rex would glow over a steamy dump if it were on the roster.

Gotta agree with you here. VD is mediocre at best.

He's worse than mediocre, he's slow of foot and clumsy. He'll get the QB hit over and over again if he's put at either guard position for any extended period of time.

Yep, and while Howard is an improvement over Hunter, he's pretty mediocre, too. No bench for the OL, either, and with Moore likely gone that means the Jets pretty much have to make a major move on the OL to be competitive. What a travesty.

Yep its time to invest in the big uglies. If we don't draft a QB this year due to lack of available talent, make it the offseason of Oline.
I would consider re-signing Moore as a stop gap too. If someone beats him out for job fine....but if not i'd take that experience over a late round rook or Ducasse (unless he shows a huge upgrade in his mental game and pass pro).
