The only way that Woody can reasonably think (and here I am certainly not defending Ryan) that Ryan will be fired if he does not make the playoffs is that Woody thinks the situation is one that can be quickly and easily patched up. Given where the Jets are right now, that is ridiculous. The Jets are nowhere near a playoff team. 4-12 is as likely as 8-8, perhaps more so, right now. That's the real problem here, not what happens to Ryan after next year. The real problem is Woody does not see what is needed to fix the Jets. Woody is an awful owner.
Fans in there 50s will reach retirement & be on social security before the NYJs are true contenders for a SB again :sad:

In my estimation there are maybe 5/7 real/true players on the present NYJs so that means but never said by WJ or RR where are those other 45 or so players to come from to make us a SB contending team next year? :sad:
The part ownership stuff is just nuts. Everything the media writes about the Jets these days is hysterical hyperbole that takes whatever situation they are writing about to the extremes. This is payback for the Tim Tebow acquisition. The media thought they had the greatest story on earth to cover for a year and the Jets turned it into trivia.

The partial ownership comment, as you must have understood,was a joke meant to refer to how much suckin up to Ryan that Woody engaged in. It has nothing to do with Tebow. It has everything to do with the Jets being the team that keeps the media busy. Why shouldn't the media report on the Jets? And you also forget how much Woody loves publicity. Ever hear how there's no such thing as bad press? Maybe Woody actually believes that.

You are more likely right than not, but ftr as skeptical as I am right now, if the Jets can resolve their Qb situation and stop wasting draft picks as Tanny had been doing, hire a decent OC, and make some moves on the cap to get that in order, it is possible they could be a contender in, say, three years.
