Here's more food for thought. Rex is apologetic for not being clear and getting his attacking offensive philosophy into the team before now. (I call BS) So, that being the case, why did the owner/GM saddle him with a dink and dunk offensive coordinator from day one? Lack of communication maybe? Or Rex is simply lying. The offensive personnel he inherited were a far greater attacking outfit than the one that he holds today. I hear that is why the GM was fired. It looks like Rex was talking out of his ass all this time he's been telling the GM that he wants an attacking style offense. They had WR's on the roster like Edwards and Cotchery. Not the Johnson boys by any stretch, but again, better than what he ended up with, while all this time, he was looking for an attacking offense.
It seemed like it kinda of just came out, ie he said it then changed his line of thought. It could have just been more general, after watching the wildcard games. I wonder what Rex thought about Russell Wilson last year, and if he regrets not getting him.
Imagine we had a draft of 1) Warmack, 2) Hopkins, 3) Boyd? We'd be able to jump right into the pistol.
So who gave us the best chance to win then? Btw - Going into the Pistol Offense is a freaking bad idea, like seriously?
It's not WHAT they but HOW they say it. Woody's attitude, demeanor, and overall presence stunk of INCOMPETENCE in this time of UNCERTAINTY. Which is what has me worried about the future of this team. If we can't have confidence in the leader of an organization, how can we expect to have confidence in the organization?
Or, we could wait to see who Woody decides on GM, and who the team lands for OC b4 we jump to conclusions. This Presser hasn't changed anything. The answers were generic (which i was hoping for. no more sensationalism). there is no need for anyone to have a strong reaction to this presser.
These clowns are f'in clueless...Rex will be involved in the hiring of the GM?...He should have been fired after the Buffalo game...
He tries to throw that in all the time, but never substantiates it with reason. He also NEVER acknowledges the Giants 31st ranked D, while still claiming they build D the 'right' way. Never any criticism of Perry Fewell. Ryan is twice the D mind as Fewell.
Just jumping in here, I note that some were expecting some announcement of info concerning progress in the GM search. Some were even expecting an announcement of a hire. Instead it seems they were saying Rex will have input on the decision. Meaning I assume he will have to interview the leading candidates, which he has yet to do. But it does seem like Woody is really committed to keeping Rex for at least one more year. Maybe more. So much for the notion that they will get the best GM candidate. They will at best get the best GM candidate who agrees with football knowledge challenged Woody that Rex is someone not only to have great confidence in as the HC, but to have "input" on hiring the GM. Well, if I were a GM candidate, I think I would be looking elsewhere right now.
Rex basically called a "do over" lol , this was the greatest press confrence in jets history. Im listening to Franchesa and he is ripping Rex and Woody it's actually really funny. But I think people are being way to hard on Rex and Mark Sanchez is getting away with murder in this whole thing
That's a joke right... Did you even read what you just quoted? I have all the confidence in the world in Rex, my favorite Jet coach in a while. My doubt lies with ownership, and ownership's ability to make the correct decisions.
I know i heard this to, Rex is probably the best defensive coord in the NFL next to Dick Lebau, Franchesa took way to much away from this interview wtf is Rex suppose to say
