Why do you think Bridgewater and Manziel would go back to school? Sometimes I feel like you just say stuff to say stuff... Please give good reasoning behind your claims. Bridgewater would be a 3 year starter and has dominated the Collegiate level. Most players in his situation go to the NFL especially if they are going to be a top pick like he will. He loves to challenge himself and is mentally mature enough to take that next step. Manziel is a junior standing in college right now and is going to graduate next year. The kid already won the heisman and is going to be in place to win a national championship next year. He is a confident and exciting young man... hWhat reasons does he have to stay at school? Especially if academically he is clear to go with a college degree. Mariota is the only one that will stay... Because he has to.
Mariota- I think he stays and improves his game unless he gets upset that Chip Kelly leaves and leaves a year earlier Manziel- I think he still needs to grow as a player and that next year A&M will get so close to the NC, that he goes back for one more shot at it Bridgewater- I also think he wants the NC, could you imagine him and Johnny Football in the NC someway, somehow battling for the #1 pick in the 2015 draft. However Manziel and Bridgewater's stocks will either peak in 2014 and take a drop in 2014 so I guess thats the deciding factor for them Also, no need for the slick remark I dont just say things to say them
He's one player thats really hard to get a read on at the next level... I mean so much of his game is build on electrifying, almost lucky plays... Will that carry on to the NFL? Idk. He does have a very good arm and can be very accurate, especially outside the hashes. He has the frame to add 15-20 pounds of muscle and like they said last night, its hard to get a clean shot on him because of his agility so he is more durable than you would think. To say the least, Johnny Football would make this offense exciting to watch.
Sorry, but I would just like your reasoning to such a claim that seems to be a little uncommon... If you can support it, go right ahead and say it, I have no problem with it. Mariota is a true freshman and isnt eligible until 2015, so he's really out of the question. If Bridgewater and Manziel continue to progress, both are top 4 picks. To turn that down (especially when JM has already won a Heisman and will have graduated college), would just be stupid. Personally, I dont see it happening. If Bridgewater was eligible this year, I dont see why he wouldn't have come out. A college degree doesnt mean as much to these kids when you are talking about millions and a top draft pick. Why risk injury or a down year that could extremely hurt your stock to only move up one of two draft picks? Just look at Barkley... Consensus top QB and top 5 pick and went back to win a national championship... I just dont think its worth it for either of them if they continue to improve and I believe theyll see it the same way.
I'm hoping he continues to develop his arm. Not that he doesn't have an NFL arm, it's just not polished to me. Health is also a concern, I really don't think he will add much weight to his frame during college. But if he can continue to stay healthy for a full season next year, my concerns will lessen. Either way, this draft class is exciting, and like I've said prior, I really wouldn't mind trading so far back that we're able to acquire a first next year (if the opputunity arises ).
Mariota is a redshirt sophomore too, him and Manziel were both in Oregon's 2011 recruiting class (insane) but I think Mariota comes out as a redshirt Junior, and Bridgewater and Manziel come out next year as juniors. They will improve alot next year I think, especially at their weaknesses (I see Manziel passing more, and Bridgewater running more, healthy ankle)
I want to see Johnny in the pocket more as well. Less tuck and run and more working the defense with his eyes and ball fakes to hit receivers. That running shit wont work in the NFL unless you got world class speed
Ah thanks for clearing that up... For some reason I always thought Mariota was a true freshman. Itll be an interesting class at QB (if they all come out) and I would love any of them.
I would love trading back and getting an extra 1st next year... For instance, 9 for this years 2nd and 3rd or 4th and next years 1st from a below average team would be great. The offensive talent is more jumbled in the 2nd and 3rd so that would be ideal for us. Im going to go back and rewatch his games to get more of a sense on his arm... But like you said, next year I would like to see him more in the pocket and try and step up in the pocket and work the middle of the field rather than just flushing out and running.
Johnny Manziel plays for Texas A&M in the SEC. Teddy Bridgewater plays for Louisville in the Big East. I don't think they're going to be considered equal prospects in the same draft if nothing has changed between now and then. I expect that Teddy Bridgewater will do everything he can to be in the draft before or the draft after Johhny Manziel.
Good point, but now he is in the ACC, and Manziel had a bad game against Florida, whereas Bridgewater torched Florida, and you can see on tape Teddy is a very good pure pocket passer, and that why I think Manziel is so good, because he played in the SEC
If you gonna watch tape on Manziel's throwing, pm what you think or post it here, i wanna hear what you find. Also notice how much Manziel makes great throws off his back foot and on the run, that's extremely impressive to me, tell me what he looks like on a 3-5 step drop with his feet set
Id pick Bridewater over Manziel, so I dont see how it would affect him. Theres a bunch of QB needy teams and he will still definitely be a top 5 pick. Just because Luck was coming out didnt stop RG3.
Quick question, does anybody know how Clowney would fit into a 34? I understand we use many different fronts, but under Rex, I don't know if we will ever switch our base from 34 to 43. From what I've heard, Clowney doesn't care much for the 34, and I don't care much for holding his career back when his natural position is 43 DE, not 34 OLB. Thoughts?
clowney fits all defenses. if you have him on your team you build the d around him. he maybe the next great pass rusher ala reggie white /l.t.
Depending on if we do the Revis Trade and get a 1st and a second next year and how Tampa finishes this season we can obtain Clowney and Bridgewater. Even if we come away from the draft with 4-5 players due to trading up I think that would be a huge score
That's not happening. We're not going to have 2 top-5 picks unless both us and Tampa Bay has a terrible year; 3-13 terrible. Getting just 1 of them is unlikely. I wouldn't be so optimistic about getting them BOTH.
We will at that point have 2 1st rounders and 2 second round picks. Depending on if we will be as bad as they say we will be we have a top pick ourselves and we can use the Tampa picks plus one of our second rounds to move up to draft Bridgewater. You figure Clowney goes top 5 and bridgewater goes 5-12 just say. We could package picks with Tampa's 1st and 2nd plus our 2nd to move up to get Bridgewater
