That has exposed the unprofessionalism of the media and has shown they're nothing more than yellow journalist fucks more than the New York Jets? First you got the whole ESPN crew spending the whole summer at Florham Park.

That jackass Skip Bayless spending the entire season brainwashing his idiot viewers to campaign for his boyfriend Tebow.

Recently, you got that doucher Manish Mehta making up bullshit to sell papers and he and the NYDN stalking the coach when he's on vacation.

I mean come on. This is some TMZ bullshit. And yes, much of this has this been brought on themselves, and it doesn't help that clowns like Bart Scott start this "media boycott".

Sports media has become a total joke, probably even more so than news or other forms. As a journalism major in college, all of this makes me either want to reconsider my career or campaign to end this bullshit

Nope, they got the circus agenda and want to run it into the ground. I guarantee there will be an article during the Superbowl bye week about us.

Time, place and circumstances are a bitch.

You get panic-mode in times of economic uncertainty and it causes people to do very strange things and often against their own interests.

The world of media is undergoing an enormous transition at this point. Nobody is truly safe in the way that media execs and reporters used to be. Add in a bit of unfortunate timing on the part of the Jets deciding to go very high profile and this is what came out of it.

    just an opinion of course.

The jets invited all this,,they welcomed it in training camp, they encouraged it. Most of the beat writers are jerks but many people in the jet organization also appear to be jerks. I don't love Mehta or any others but even with invisible sources much of what Mehta wrote was true.
If you put lipstick and a dress on a pig it is still a pig,,,the jets this year were a pig ! The organization deserves all the ridicule they brought this on themselves it is the culture they created and loved while it was going good .we are a 3 ring circus like it or not,,,,,we fans deserve better and hopefully they hit a HR with the new GM but history has not been good to them or us .

The media is a bunch of clowns but the Jets are far worse. There's a reason the media circus is following us and not eh Steelers or Giants or bears et al. We're a massive joke of an organization. If you think otherwise, you need to take the green glasses off.

    Only to a point

The current management team ( Tanny Woody & Rex) certainly give fuel to the press, but you've been around a long time and you know the Jets have been the whipping boys since they were the Titans and they dared to tread upon the ground of St. Wellington and the holy Giants.

After '68, the press has always punished the Jets for their losing seasons, as if every loss should have been a victory except for a huge mixture of player underachievement and Front Office/Coaching stupidity. And I don't need to hear that the Jets made their own bed. I know that. Its just that the Jets NEVER get the benefit of the doubt. (see my signature).

And when the Jets are up, (see '82, 98 and 2009-2010 play-offs) we get way too much credit and are overestimated in the press. It's as if the collective press fears that a given winning streak may be the one that takes us to the SB and they don't want to be the one with the egg on their face. (Jets will only win VLT when the NY press counts them out completely.

What we're seeing now is the convergence of a long time whipping boy (NYJ) and the modern day trash media meeting up. It results in long-range telephoto images of a coach in his bathing suit.

    How are we a joke?

Only thing I can think of was the Tebow trade and Rex Ryan constantly suggesting that Sanchez gave us the best chance to win after we lost.

Other than that, everything else is media driven sensationalist bullshit. We're a circus if we talk, we're a circus if we don't. Ryan has a questionable tattoo, doesn't explain why they paid someone to stalk him and take gossip magazine photos of him and his wife. Doesn't explain the downright condescending attitude of some (mainly Mehta; Cimini has good info and good sources for the most part). All of these writers fill their pants with semen when they read the comments and the phrases 'LOL, JETS ARE SUCH A CIRCUS' and 'I'M A PATS FAN, THANKS FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT THIS YEAR' and 'LOL BUTTFUMBLE!!!!!!!!!'

this is the same media that covers the giants. and covered the jets before rex ryan.

i think there is one common denominator to the absurdity and unproffessionalism. and its the guy with a tattoo of his wife wearing a sanchez jersey on his arm.

Just like everything else, when you're winning, all that stuff is funny, going against the establishment, etc. When you're losing, it's spun as a circus.

Just like Mangini. When he's winning, the secretive stuff worked great, and he's Mangenius. When he's not winning, it's boring and he's fired.

From the thread title I thought this was going to be about how unprofessional the Jets are. Usually the New York Post isn't the most reliable news source but their cover before the season started summed up the Jets.

The Daily Charmin and their two assclowns Mehta and Myers decided that tattoos were worthy of a second day of Front Page banner coverage today

    Solution for Jet fans

    Do not buy

    Do not click

Do not support their advertisers and tell them why

but it was no any kind of circus. the media just said he sucks. the bravado and brashness and circus type atmosphere taht we currently have feeds the media.

to the guys complaining about the media not being professional, my point is that the jets have not been professional, remember the sexual harrassment that was egged on by coaches a few years ago? the sal alosi situation?

    just to name a couple.

it wasnt all just fun stuff that made the team look unprofessional.

It is really quite simple become a elite team instead of a dreg of the NFL & this will all go away.

Last I looked U get no rewards for being a also ran so until somehow they become a tier 1 team this will continue. Naturally acquiring TT made a lot of what went on this year become real & show how stupid our Owner, HC & former GM were

I believe the media already have a predetermained agenda when covering the NY Jets, that's been established, but we've given them plenty of ammunition and to work with.

And about the tattoo thing, it's not about "oh so what he has a tattoo", it's what the tattoo may imply. It makes me think about as bad as Sanchez sucked this year, why was he not benched? Why after he cost us the playoffs, they put him in a meaningless game against the Bills saying "He gives us the best chance to win" instead of Tebow.

If Tebow would have sucked, who cares, it's a throw away game! I'm not gonna go as far as others to say Sanchez is bangin' Rex's wife or sucking her toes, but that tattoo story, as stupid as it is does make me go "Hmmmm"

Blame Rex--Putting the jets on "hard knocks," predicting super bowl victories, and claiming that the QB who invented the butt fumble "gives us the best chance to win." You don't see Belicheck or John Fox make total idiots of themselves like that.

There was a plausible explanation I heard.
To get Tebow over Jax, Jets promised him, in writing, that he would be NO.2 QB and the one to sub Sanchez. If that was the case, Rex was contractually obligated to play Tebow if he wanted to bench MS... unless TT is injured. Hence, the only time MS was pulled out was when Tebow could not step on the field.

    Look at it this way:

The Jets invite extra media scrutiny on themselves and have asked for the attention BUT currently this week we fired our GM and are looking for a new one, a pretty big deal and the lead Jets stories this week have been:

    a) Jets not speaking on Monday to media
    b) Rex can't be found, Jets breaking rule not speaking to media
    c) Jets breaking rule still (mind you we are starting to interview candidates and reaching out)
    d) Rex in Bahamas, let's send a reporter to the Bahamas instead of figuring who the lead is in the GM race
    e) Rex's tattoo, while Tom Gamble is getting a second interview with the Jets after turning down another interview

REmember, all the news about Gamble and etc has come from national sources like Schefter, Mort report, etc but when looking at other teams you see their beat writers breaking the news and the national media following off of that.

Yes the Jets invite all this attention, but you have to search to find an article about our empty GM position and the ratio of football related articles to non related football articles is like 1:10 which is ridiculously bad.
