Oh no doubt. I think A&M has a great chance to be title contenders next year simply because of Johnny. But we as people who look to analyze players coming into the NFL have to realize the difference between being dynamic in college and being dynamic in the NFL. I need a bigger sample size, personally, but I have a feeling he'll exceed my expectations. He's got both a big arm and is fairly accurate, I (as a fan of his) want to see him do even more.
Yeah it says he is 6'1, but I wanna see the official measurement on that, and yeah I know what your saying about his health, but literally the announcers today were talking about how no one can ever get a shot on him, because he is so damn slippery, and I like Bridgewater as a better NFL QB too, because he is a lot more polished passer, I am really excited for the 2014 draft, because it has so many amazing prospects
As do I. Honestly, it's a long shot but if there is any way possible we could acquire someone's first rounder next year I'd be ALL for it. 2014 is stacked, and we'll most likely be picking in the top 10 again. Being able to acquire one of those top QBs next year via trade up would make a ton of sense. Although, like I said, that's a long shot.
Yeah that would be awesome, like if we trade this years for a 2nd, 4th, and a future 1st that would be great, sacrifice the present for the future, although I doubt the Jets do it, because the Media would kill em, people in this market want the present and are very unpatient, and yeah Matthews will protect his ass next year
we'd only do it with a team that will likely suck like Jacksonville, Arizona or Cleveland. but I want to walk away Clowney or a combo of Barr and Lee since I think Manziel, Mariota and Bridgewater will all come out in 2015
I would settle for making all the throws and being an expert at reading defenses. But, it's his smarts and football awareness, stuff you can't teach that sets him apart from previous high drafted QB's who turned out to be not so great. This is why I tend to lean on him being worth a very high pick. He can move an offense in many different ways that no coach can teach. The problem though, as with all QB's like him is, can he stay healthy playing that style? Which is what makes him a very risky pick.
he likely has 2 more years of school left before he declares. I want to see him read his progressions a little more rather than tuck and run when his 1st option isn't there. NFL defenses will exploit that. Use his legs to buy time to find his 3rd and 4th options or just check down. Now he's listed at 6'1, is that generous or is he a legit 6'1/6'2. Can he add weight he's 200 pounds and I think he needs another 15-20 which he can gain slowly. So if he improves those minor negatives and shows up to the combine 6'1/6'2 215-220 pounds then I'd take him as our QB of the future
I agree with that. It's a shame that Oklahoma didn't show up and test him tonight. What a horrible game plan on both sides of the ball for OU. Pathetic. Thought I was watching the Jets. Manziel has a chance to grow more. He's got size 15 feet and huge hands.
thats crazy too, he may get an inch or 2 extra which is plausible due to his hands and feet. I forget who but there was a basketball player who entered college at 6'7 and left at 6'11. If Manziel gets even close to a true 6'3 and gains some weight............ :metal: sign me up
I don't think he is gonna grown, he is 20 right now, but you know what? I would be ecstatic if he was 6'1 1/2, because he would be like Russell Wilson, but bigger and more dynamic with his feet, but yeah heard he has size 15 feet with 9-10 inch hands or something, that insane, I have size 13's and I am 6'4! but I think if Manziel is told he will be top 5 next year and wins a title, he will come out, why wouldn't you? and sign me up for a 6'1 1/2 more dynamic Russell Wilson
its not of the question he could grow its likely he wont however I grew 20 inches after turning 20 so who knows
++ on trading to a team likely to suck in 2013. Can you imagine how disappointed the Rams are this year, I'm betting they thought they'd have 2 picks in the top 15, if not 10, and instead are drafting in the bottom 16 with one pick possibly being near the very end of the first.
