Good decision to have him out of the organization completely, but people are STILL complaining.

If Woody cured cancer, I bet some people would call him an idiot.

Your name is Sanchize yet you have McElroy as your avatar. I'm sure you blame that on Tannenbaum too.

Once again, Rex is the HEAD COACH not the defensive coordinator.

Rex picked the players. If you think otherwise, then you haven't been paying attention.

Almost all of your points can be associated because of someone else's fuck up. It's a good thing the GM got fired because he is to be blamed for putting together such an awful roster.

MT went all in and put us in cap hell in the process without infusing new talent into this roster. Rex had to play clean up because of the moves MT has made for this team.

You want to referr to the Mangini era but that was because they were actually making significant roster moves during that period, they went all in, Rex took over and you haven't seen moves made like that since Rex has been here. That isn't Rex's fault.. How could it be? He doesn't have that role within the organization, that is not his job title. He may have input but he should never have the last say on any roster move because that is not his job.

To say Rex isn't a tactician is hilarious to me, he is probably the most strategic defensive coach in the game today. That is silly, his expertise is not offense and he has to rely on his OC to produce in that capacity. When he was hired everyone understood this, even the fans, who are trying so hard to forget that now and expect Rex to be a master on the offensive side of the ball as well now. It blows my mind.

I'm sure he has input and I'm sure he has overruled things on offense at times depending on what the opposing defense is giving them, he obviously knows something about an offense considering he understands defense so well, but I'm confident that he trusts his coaching staff to get the job done and it's hard for any OC to get the job done when you have shit to work with at every skill position on the team.

I'm tired of ranting, this is never ending and I'm just glad Rex is not getting fired and Woody and others can actually see that the guy is a hell of a HC.

    I'm happy, sorry your not.

Wrong, Johnson could very well tell the GM to give Rex a year for stability and if that does not work he can fire him. That way the GM can focus on establishing the roadmap, draft strategy, identifying the core players, and coaching infrastructure

Well Sparano's biggest supporter was supposedly Tanny, not Rex so you might be wrong on that.

This was also his roster the first two years. Again, nobody has answered, if this was Mangini's roster, how did he miss the playoffs with Favre and Rex had more success with a rookie QB throwing more INTS than TDs? Nobody can ever explain that. Also it misses the fact that Cromartie, LT, Braylon, Holmes, Jimmy, Scott, Wilson, Sanchez, Greene, Slauson were all starters in the first two years that were not MAngini players.

Sounds like he wanted to keep him in some capacity but was told no decent GM would come if Tanny still had Woody's ear.

Hard to give too much credit for a decision that should have happened at least a few years ago.

I'm not talking about what happened in the past, that's over with. I was referring to Rex's loyalty going forward concerning Sanchez.

Are you certain that we know Sanchez isn't the Jets QB next year? This is one of many concerns of bringing Ryan back. If he plays Sanchez next year then this team is done.

Obviously with more changes to come you would hope the eventual new GM and new OC have other plans for the QB situation this offseason. Yet Rex is still the HC and we know how poorly he botched the QB situation this year. Hopefully this doesn't continue going forward or we're done next year.

Actually, it's not speculation. The Jets sent out an email to ticketholders this morning stating that Tannenbaum is out (not remaining with the organization at all) and Rex will remain because (paraphrasing) "he has the tools to lead the team to where it needs to be".

some of u folks who want to enemize the entire coaching staff need to think more clearly. RR is a dang good coach - defensive coach - who knows his X's and O's - even on offense....

while he doesn't get a complete pass on the offense and the cluster fuk that has seen - i give him some rope. the jets need to get an OC in here that will tell RR not to worry about the O and take care of the D. period. Turner could fit that bill.

i realize that he sounds delusional at times in front of the media and all but waht the hell is he supposed to say.

at keast we have a guy who is as passionate as it gets and wants to be here forever - not some lame jackass who doesn't bleed green.

Wow, I don't know where to begin with how uninformed this entire post is. So I'll just keep it simple: you're crazy!

I am happy, Tannenbaum is no longer the GM. It all starts at the top. Rex can be fired anytime before 2014 when the real progress towards the rebuild begins. 2013 is the year of crap removal. Rex can lead his crap to one final season and get us a good draft pick in 2014. If we could unload his crap this off season we would, but it cannot be done in it's entirety. Let our new head coach start fresh in 2014 with a clean roster, free from the stench of Rex Ryan.

I think you're right. I also think the new GM will pick Rex as his HC unless something really strange happens in the interim. This is the Jets and Rex is Rex so something strange is quite possible.

I made my namenwhen Mark Sanchez was up and coming. I cant change it now. I changed it after McElroy beat Arizona. Havent been back here until today.

Read everything about Rex Ryan and the draft. It says he gets 1 "pick to himself" a year. If Mark Sanchez continues his progression and doesnt turn to shit nobody is even having this conversation.

Bottom line is the GM controls the players that are on the team and he did not put the players on the team that needed to be there.

Rex is not the person to get the Jets a top draft pick. We're looking at about the best pick we'll get with him this year.

I honestly don't think it will. If the GM was forced to NEVER fire Rex, then no one would want the job. But Rex is owed over $6M and Woody probably doesn't want to eat that. Also, as several have pointed out 2014 is the year we can get out from under the terrible cap hell we're in now. So, Rex has 2013 to prove what he can do, and then he'll almost assuredly be let go if the Jets have another poor season. A

At this time next year, after the Jets have a horrible 4-12 season and Rex has hardly any improvements from this year (assuming a normal 'Jets' draft), the Rex-lovers will scream about how unfair it was that he never got any talent. Like any coach in that position doesn't have any say on what his roster is like. It's funny to me that people think Rex sits on the sidelines whistling the day away and walks into the lockerroom to a surprise as to who he has to coach.

Right sure OK yeah ummm Tanny hired an OC that Rex wasn't 100% on board with. Yeah OK right ummm yes that's it. All the makings of a huge successful outcome there.

Favre was hurt. What's the point? You don't even stick to reality.

My opinion that differs from you doesn't automatically make me uninformed. I have expressed my views and opinions a lot and I stand by why I believe what I do.

You quote me, make an absurd statement, and then call me crazy is the least informative post I have read all day.

Again, you disagree with me, I don't care. At least I am willing to put my views out there, you, you strike me as someone who feels a certain way just because things didn't go how you wanted them to and so instead of forming a constructive opinion of your own you would rather just blow everything up and start all over as if that is the grand solution to every problem.

It's not, nothing good ever comes easy and it usually takes a lot of work to perfect something but if you keep working at it (given there is potential for success already), good things will come.

Rex has already proven to show potential success for this team, working through these growing pains and keeping continuity within this organization is what will allow us to see good things.

I am confident that Rex can bring a championship to the Jets. That's my opinion.

Lame duck coach with a roster that's being broken down, I'd say it gives us a good chance to land another top 10 pick. Maybe not 1, but enough to get us a high pick that we could parlay into a bunch more picks.

Schedule is also tougher next season. Right now we have no QB. New GM will trade some of our veteran talent to acquire more picks.

Yeah, let's get rid of the 2nd most successful coach in Jets History so we can start over in 2014. It's worked out so well for us over the last 52 years.
