I guess you didn't read my post. I said "Warner was good from Day 1 once starting in the NFL." Again, Warner and Sanchez is a comparison that will never be made now or in Sanchez's future.
Warner's story is insane. The chances of that happening are VERY slim. After 4 years in the NFL, Sanchez has hardly any shot of rebounding. QB is one of the most important (if not the MOST important) position on the field, and normal franchises (unlike the Jets) will not give him a chance to display his shit show.
I agree that there is no RGIII or Luck in this draft. Thats why I want Te'o instead of a qb, then to draft Bray and maybe trade for Smith. But heres the flip side, there will be no great qb's in 2014 either. There will probably be Bridgewater and maybe Manziel. Neither of those guys scream elite NFL qb.
Not only that, but he was a back up behind Trent Green going into the 99 season and only got a shot because Green injured his knee.
What do you guys think of Taylor Lewan. Great tackle prospect. I really want to see us draft OL early twice. New guard new tackle. Some people like what they see in Howard but I just dont see it.
You make a good point. This draft class of QBs reminds me of 2006. Someone will get their Jay Cutler (good QB, not super), and the rest will get fool's gold. Hopefully the Jets don't get another Kellen Clemens.
I don't want Alex Smith anywhere near this team. He will be expensive and he is just another game manager. It is time to abandon this ground and pound mentality. It doesn't win in today's NFL. Even SF realized this. NO to Alex Smith. The Jets need to find and develop a young QB who can do more than avoid turnovers.
Honestly, they can't afford an Alex Smith with Sanchez on the roster. Although, there aren't many QB's out there to run the type of offense you are alluding too. Sad as it may seem, if they take a chance on a QB in this draft, be prepared for someone like Hasselback (in that mold, not him per se).
No way, I have watched all his games. He is way too immature. Got in trouble before the season started by throwing beer bottles at a car at his apt. complex. Refused to watch tape to prepare for games. He has talent but he pisses it away in pressure situations and is a liability off the field as well.
I think its more a lack of ANY talent at the skill position on the O side of the ball that is 90% to blame rather than it being an issue of drive or character - you can play as hard as you like but when you flat out just don't have the talent, especially at the key positions, then it doesn't matter how much you want it.
come on, nobody has a clue who will look good come 2014 - there are always players that seem to come out of nowhere.
#9 isn't too bad. I thought they were going to win JUST enough games to miss the playoffs and also be picking about #16 or there abouts. Lucky for me I was wrong, and the Jets are even worse than I thought. I'll take #9!
Sigh. There has to be someone coming out in this year's draft that's worth taking, no? There's no way we should settle for these bums, who obviously didn't pan out with their previous team, or teams. I mean, Matt Moore? Jason Campbell? Alex Smith? Kyle Orton? Come on, fellas, we have to do better than these guys. Who are the best QBs that are coming out in this year's draft anyway?
I read on NFLTR.co that the Titans/Jets selections may be decided by a coin-flip. Is this true? (Or was that determined during the afternoon games? Etc)
