I get a kick out of Sanchez supporters at this point in time. If sanchez played on any other team there would not be one supporter on this board who thought he was a decent QB since he's never been anything but a Dilfer when he's at his best.

The reason some still Believe Sanchez is they were so convinced that Sanchez would be a true QB worthy of a top 5 pick that they just can't release that false hope. Kind of like a family surrounding the bed of a beloved relative who's circling the drain at the end of their life, they see the slightest improvement, or illusion of improvement, and convince themeselves that person is going to live.

If Sanchez was playing for another team Mcelroy would be our starting QB and likely on IR.

For those who don't support our starting QB who do you want starting? Tebow? Mcelroy? Stop the stupidity already with few exceptions nobody who is a Jets fan has a man crush on Sanchez. Sucking is still relative and there is such a thing as sucks less and sucks more. That's why they make light beer.

This should make you laugh then: I think Mark Sanchez has potential to be a successful QB in the league and the NYJ franchise has done everything humanly possible to prevent that from happening.

    Enjoy.

Different circumstances. Show you can hold onto the ball at all costs and be a viable backup vs. make the playoffs and be a viable starter.

Sanchez wouldn't be playing on another team, because no other team is stupid enough to start a worthless qb.

Anyone who knows anything about football and doesn't have a vested interest in Mark Sanchez would rather see Tebow, Mcelory, Kerley, or Vladamir Ducasse start at QB over Sanchez - they would all play better.

You're right that sucking is all relative, and Sanchez has proven that he sucks worse then anyone.

What do you guys think Sanchez stats will be sunday?

I'm thinking he has a good game 17-26 250 2TD no screw ups.

    Thoughts?

Knowing the Jets, I could see Sanchez having the best game of his career... maybe something like 4 TDs, 300 yards, no turnovers... I mean it is the Jets, so I wouldnt put anything past them.

A great game to instill confidence in those of you crazy Sanchez fans for the rest of the offseason... I could see it happening.

More realistically- 107 yards, 1 TD, 2 Ints, 1 fumble.

First of all, define "successful." Is a winning season (9-7) successful? His QB rating is dismal and you can't put it all on the O-line and WRs. We've all seen the overthrows, underthrows, throws into multiple coverage, last-second panic throws, stare-downs leading to batted down balls, mishandlings in a variety of ways, failures to throw the ball away, unawareness in the pocket leading to batted out balls, etc.

Secondly, this NYJ franchise has been aggrevatingly patient with this guy. He stunk up the field (really badly) during the last 4 games of 2011, yet we start him with confidence again this year. And truth be told, there were signs he was a stinker even before that. So this year, sure, we brought in Tebow. So what. A good QB sucks it up. it's called competition. And we give him the job!

You know the rest of the story, because I'm sure you've watched the games. Seriously, there's no way this guy will be successful. But if you are right, he must have an awful lot of other teams calling his agent... "Come on over here and we'll win some SBs together." Yeah.

No. True Jets fashion is, we release him and the Patriots pick him up as a backup. Brady gets leveled by Coples this fall and Mark Sanchez goes on to defeat us in a playoff game in our own house while leading the Pats to a SB victory in January, 2013.

    That's true Jets fashion.

In his first two years they gave him a running game and a potent defense. In his 3rd year they felt it was time to take off the training wheels and let him go on his own and he shit the bed. To say that they prevented him from being a successful QB is down right fuckery.

This past season they brought in Tebow and for the first time Sanchez had some damn competetion and you Sanchez apologists look at that as some type of negative. If Sanchez had any balls that wouldn't make him "uneasy" instead he should be motivated to prove that he is the man for the job.

+10000. But the Sanchez apologists, although much fewer in number, will still make a ton of excuses for him and still believe he can be the jets franchise qb. Trust me. If he starts next year, and when he shits the bed, the same cast of characters (you know who they are) will have a whole new line of excuses ready.

Remember when all you heard was......well I wanna see him without shotty for a year before I call him a bust. Well they did but it sure didn't change their tune did it. And another garbage season won't do it either

I'll take that bet in a heartbeat. It's always about how the NYJ messed Sanchez up and not about his shitty play at the QB position. Just great. When it comes to Sancho it has never been his own inability to play the position, rather everyone else around him. I'll say it now...Mark Sanchez better get used to holding a clipboard because that's where most of his remaining NFL career will be spent. He will be a below average NFL QB at best from here on out.
