He keeps saying "the reporter". He said he talked to "the reporter" last night when approached with the story and told him it was not true. Says "the reporter" did not report the part about Rex denying the story. Rex's language is not 100% clear though. He is skating around the story in a way that is a denial but not in the strongest terms.
I disagree 100%. He won 6 games without his two best players, Mark Sanchez being this awful, and had to deal with this Tebow shit that he clearly wanted nothing to do with.

If DC is indeed the leak, he's gotta go. You can't keep someone who regularly leaks inside info. BTW, if Rex is true about calling Mehta & denying the report, this is shitting reporting. Mehta should've mentioned that HC denied the story.
Mehta has been a tabloidish reporter for some time now. Of course he's not going to mention that Rex denied the story. He's probably gotten away with doing the same thing several times and never been called on it. He may have just pissed off the wrong person one too many times though. I stopped following him on twitter a while back because he's awful.
Rex should tell something juicy to all his coaches and advisers, except make it a different story to each of them. Whichever story gets leaked he knows who is doing it.
Mehta was one of the very few Jets beat writers I actually read, but he's gotten much worse over the past couple of years. Accidentally, this coincides with Pettine's arrival in NY.
