He's complaining about no offense and he's taken 2 offensive specialist players, Hill & Sanchez, in the first 2 rounds since he's been here.

Coples was a faux need in round 1 last year.

    You guys are so naive.
No coach would resign. Between loosing remaining contract $$ and killing your reputation as a competitor the notion of anyone resigning is simply ridiculous.

Someone really needs to stop talking to Manish Mehta.

Personally, I am pretty sure that while Rex can hire/fire OCs, the money doesn't come out of his personal budget. Woody would still need to give the final say. Which I think he will when it comes to Sporano. As for offensive personnel, Rex has some input in it, but the lion's share of input goes right back to...Tannenbaum. His contracts are crippling us, and his drafts while average haven't exactly been difference makers. Can't really help offensive personnel with that handicap.

Mehta and his anonymous sources again! I really think it's the janitor.

The way that these last few weeks have played out, it certainly seems like Johnson has had a bigger input into football operations than we thought. Your post is spot on with Tebow, but what Ryan is intimating is that Johnson is also impacting other player personnel decisions (e.g., Johnson won't cut an ineffective player he still has to pay just to replace him).

Pure speculation: Part of this may refer to Sanchez. Maybe Ryan is saying that he would rather cut Sanchez this year and have Johnson eat the salary so that the position can be cleared for the future?

Either way, it appears that there's severe dysfunction in our beloved Jets' ownership, not just the front office. (Not like we didn't know that anyways.)

No on really knows what it going on inside the Jets HQ. For all we know, the "source" could be trying to get Rex fired. Also, what is being said, could be misinterpreted by the "source". All will be clear in a few days.

Actually, a better question would be: Are there any sources?

That is what I read into it. Imagine if Rex has been trying to ditch Sanchez since
Last season and he was told no for money reasons?

  10. This all seems very redundant. No shit the offense needs to get better. It's one of the worst this franchise has ever fielded. It'd be more concerning if Rex DIDN'T want change to the offense.

This sounds like posturing to me. Rex needs to to distance himself from the fall-guys who appear to be Tannenbaum/Sparano & possibly Bradway. Wouldn't be a surprise if the "source" was in fact Rex's agent.

I don't think he's making stuff up, not for the most part at least. But I do think that some of his revelations are just plausible rumors. Before you ask -- I have no proof one way or another, just a gut feeling.

It's amazing to me how so many people ignore this. None of these reports mean anything, and it amazes me that people get worked up by them and then complain about the media in the next breath. The only thing that matters is what happens to the team starting next Monday; the rest of this is nonsense designed to get clicks.

Rex is suppose to be in-charge, so why is passing the buck to Woody? unless this validates
the thinking that Tebow was forced on him and the owner is messing with the team??

This. The Sparano hire is seen as a Rex move but who knows if Woody gave him a budget and said find the best you can with a max salary of X? Either way next week should be interesting.

If Rex had anything to do with bringing in Tebow, it was probably a last ditch desperation move to get rid of Sanchez. Turns out all Rex needed to get rid of Sanchez was Sanchez.

  17. Tebow was a combination of the Jets looking for a cheap way to upgrade the offensive skill group & them trying to outsmart themselves. They thought tebow could be Brad Smith. They were sorely mistaken.

Why would anyone be content with this depth chart on offense? The Daily News as usual.

We are going to find out this off season what kind of owner woody is. I think is the kind the that only cares about money and not winning and if thats the case the jets are doomed

No, it's possible that Haley was not able to be hired WITH Sparano over money....
