OK, that settles it for me. There is absolutely no logical reason why you wouldn’t start Tebow in this situation. If TT craps the bed – Rex gets to show that he was right all along not starting Tim. If Tebow shines, you beef up his value and get to trade him to Jax instead of just releasing. There is something really nasty going on at the front office.
Rex is terrified to start tebow. If tebow does well than rex looks like an idiot for not playing him and letting Sanchez flush the season down the toilet.
It wouldn't surprise any of us if you were arrested for bashing McElroy over the head while he was sleeping last night.
You're right. Because you've posted on a Jets forum, I'd expect many posters to make up reasons & argue that you don't know what you're talking about. In debates like this, protecting pride takes priority over rational judgement. Jets & Rex have been assholes. By now it's obvious that Jets were interested in Tebow the Media Magnet & didn't give two shits about Tebow the football player. Considering how short NFL careers are there's just no way to spin Jets behavior positive. Rex & Jets have shown very little class/respect but I don't think too many inside Jets Nation would ever admit it. Many fans (of all teams) are unable to take off homer glasses to objectively criticize their teams on & off the field.
Doubtful. This is Buffalo we're playing. Most any mediocre team led by any QB with a pulse can beat Buffalo. If Tebow were to beat them, it wouldn't be much of an accomplishment.
Not for nothing but being an asshole to a QB who may not even be an NFL caliber backup, much less starter, really is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. There have been many and more worse things happening with the Jets than that.
Sure there is, they know Tebow is gone anyway so they'd rather give the start to the QB that 'will' be here. What puzzles me is you could play Tebow and up his trade value, unless they're so afraid of a 9-26 game that causes us to cut instead of trade him.
Boo.hoo. The guy STINKS. He was the back-up all those weeks b/c he was a percieved competitive advantage given all the different roles he played & additional roster spots he created. The Broncos were able to change their offense to suit Tebow b/c they had several O-linemen who had familarity w/ the zone blocking scheme Tebow was successful behind in college. That wasn't an option for the Jets. There's no defending his acquisition. It was a disaster within every concieveable facet. But the guy STINKS as a quarterback..anyone who attended training camp will tell you the same thing. In no way should there be any ill will toward the Jets for not playing someone if they haven't disaplyed the skills needed to be successful
This is such a stupid argument the tebots love to make. It's just another excuse among the very many that they have ready to serve. If McElroy did well the same would have been the case, so spare us the bullshit. Rex didn't want to play Tebow because he fucking sucks every day in practice.
