    Ben Hartsock???????? Ben Hartsock????? :rofl2:

The mistake the FO made was moving Hunter to RT, and OUT of the 6th man role.

Hunter at least could actually get open, and while they never threw him the ball, unlike Hartsuck, he didn't make Anthony Becht look like Jerry Rice.

If our oline is so weak, and our skills players are so bad, and blah blee blah is this and that, and all things point to Sanchez not being so bad, why did his weak ass throw 4 picks against a chump team on Monday night football with our slim playoff hopes on the line? The oline didn't cause bad decisions, he did! Put Tom Brady under center with the team we got and he rips them to shreds! Instead, we get the most overpaid piece of shit Qb in any league all the way down to pop warner. Andrew luck would have our team in the playoffs, so would RG3, he'll Charlie batch would at least have us a winning record. Our main problem is our Qb and there is nobody to judge until that issue is resolved. Stop blaming sparano, the line, our skill players, or whoever else.... It's all speculation until Sancho is replaced! He sucks balls, he has killed our playoff chances this year! and it started happening early this year, and he proved it all last Monday!

Yes, our Oline is trash. Gmac played okay for his first start but the Oline let him down bigtime. It was pissing me off the Gannon was blaming Gmac for holding the ball too long when the problem was lack of protection and nobody getting open on 1 on 1 coverage.

The one time he did throw into coverage, it got picked off.

And Sancho is still a bum, he would have throw another 5 picks yesterday if he started.

Not true, Brady would have been just as ineffective with our Oline and position players. Nobody was blocking or getting open.

I understand that receivers need to get open, but if our 4th yr Qb can't walk up to the line and survey, guess even, what the defense is doing or trying to do, then turn it around by changing the play, calling a different route, then we are doomed. Earlier in the year someone showed that its not the receivers. The example was hill being open in a window and nacho took a pass on the opportunity and then threw a pick by going to the receiver he was staring down. I'm sure nobody tried in yesterday's game so it's irrelevant. Receivers have been open all year in every game, it just takes a good one to pick the right window to throw in to. Brady would have taken us to an easy win last Monday, to say otherwise is just bias toward sanchize in his favor. Sanchez feels the heat of the defense before the snap, and has no idea how to help the offense overcome blitz schemes! I bet our defense could tell the truth. Sanchez was exposed along time ago when he proved his fear for aggressive defenses. He might study well and all that other crap about his personna, but there is no denying it... When the clock ticks and the game is on, he shits the bed! He doesn't have the IT that it takes to play pro football!

A lot of fans can't seem to grasp the concept that the quarterback and the rest of the offense can both suck at the same time.

It's obvious that the Jets' protection didn't do Sanchez any favors (especially last season.) It's also pretty clear that the Jets' receivers are one of the worst groups in football, especially without Holmes. That doesn't change the fact that Sanchez is inaccurate, unable to read the defense before the snap, and one of the worst decisionmakers under pressure in the entire league.

A lot of fans can't grasp the fact that the Qb is the leader of the offense, and everything that happens on the field starts and goes through him! Did I say leader? In pro football you are only as good as your Qb on offense! It's not any other way. In baseball your defense is only as good as your pitcher. In basketball you are only as good as your point guard. On and on.....
Our oline has 3 pro bowlers on it and 2 middle of the pack linemen. They haven't caused suck hose to suck. We don't know if we have good receivers or not, our Qb has never gotten them the ball in anyway that favors them. It's stupid to say they never get open. They do, but in the nfl they stay open for very short periods of time, and as long as the Qb stares at them, they will never get open. How many times has our dumb Qb misread the defense and sent our receivers into multiple coverage cause he thought wrong pre snap?

This, it was a combination of inconsistent play from everyone that led to poor play of the O. Let's start with Sanchez since everyone loves him here. Sanchez is an inconsistent QB. His inconsistently leads the wide receivers to not know exactly where they are getting the ball. At the same time, the wide receivers aren't getting much separation and are running the wrong routes at times, this causes Sanchez's hesitant nature and Sanchez trying to force throws into coverage. The OL has been inconsistent, partly because Sanchez holding the ball too long not trusting his WR to be in the right spot, but also the WR don't scare any DBs in the league. They just man up and send blitzes. This leads back to Sanchez and Wr not being on the same page. We saw Sanchez throw hot reads at receivers and have the receiver not ready for the ball. The WR didn't see the blitz Sanchez saw. This led to Sanchez waiting until a WR is open to throw, because he doesn't trust the receiver to turn back 9 yards down the field . Add in the RBs and FB had trouble blocking the blitzes in cohesion with the OL, the WR need forever to get open, Sanchez couldn't consistently hit them when they are open, you have this mess.

It was an up and down failure of inconsistency.

I am not going to say GM's the answer for us but it was his fist real start ever. He has had maybe two weeks practice with the first string offense all season.

Why to compare that to Sanchez? Heck if Sanchez started we would have only scored 10 and they probably would have returned a fumble and int for a TD.

The Jets problems on offense right now stem from at least 4 primary issues.

    1. They have no NFL-caliber QB in house.

Sanchez was a marginal NFL starter through his first two and a half seasons but he has declined steadily since then, at least in part due to the reasons listed below. McElroy and Tebow are not NFL caliber QB's and likely never will be.

    2. The offensive line has been allowed to deteriorate to the point of inconsistency.

Some games, against some defensive personnel and schemes the line looks good, even great. Against other fronts and personnel it looks weak. You never know from week to week which you're going to get and this has been true since Damien Woody was hurt near the end of 2010.

    3. The receiving corps is weak by NFL standards.

Too many waiver wire guys playing regularly for the Jets. The Jets WR corps has not been consistent since Braylon Edwards and Jerrico Cotchery left.

    4. The offensive schemes and play-calling just blow chunks.

No explanation necessary here if you've watched Sparano call games and saw Schotty before that. There's no consistency to the play-calls and the pieces are all considered inter-changeable. Not surprisingly there are no players that can be counted on in crunch time because Sparano doesn't put any of them in the position to be the guy when the chips are down.

When Sanchez was in the flaws in items 2 to 4 produced too many turnovers because Sanchez is a gambler who takes too many chances and doesn't protect the ball well.

When McElroy was in the flaws produced too many sacks and eventually turnovers because McElroy is cautious by nature and doesn't let go of the ball until he's sure what will happen as a result. The late turnovers were because when you get hit a lot with the ball in your hands bad things happen.

If Tebow was in the flaws would likely produce a ton of 3-and-outs because Tebow is also cautious only his answer is to scramble instead of getting sacked. We'd get a big play occasionally and a bunch of 3-and-outs.

Problem 1 is real. Problems 2, 3 and 4 need to be fixed before there's any chance 1 gets straightened out.

Short but complete. This is the concept lost on most of the Jets fanbase.

Your guy coughed up the ball twice and threw a pick with 0 td's - with the same offense that Mark has had. In fact a stronger one because Braylon had an extra week of practice. McElroy faced the same problems and the result was similar.

Reading this sums up why discussing this issue with you is useless. McElroy had 1 week of reps with the team, correct? You bring up the point that Edwards had an extra week, but that goes out the window with the person that needs the most reps?

McElroy threw an interception, and was a horrible decision for the redshirt rookie. He also made some bad throws, but you completely ignore the fact that his pocket presence and mobility in the pocket was elite compared to Sanchez. His throws were out on time, and not late.

This is a great break down of each sack of the chargers game. Also I'd like to say personally I like Howard, although he played poorly this game he has been more then decent as our starting RT this year. PFF ranks him as the 3rd best run blocking tackle and ranks as the 31st ranked tackle (keep in mind each team has two making that 64 starting tackles in the league). His pass blocking has been average to slightly below average but with experience he will improve. No one can deny he has far and beyond exceeded expectations this year and deserves another year as the Jets starting RT.

I was only commenting on the fact that you said his performance was positive. How? He threw 0 td's, was sacked 11 times, and had 3 turnovers.

Not trying to argue - just trying to get an idea of your perspective.

You are insane... any bit of intelligence I may have though you had just vanished... You honestly think the Jets could get a 2nd rounder for Tebow? You think they arent starting Sanchez so he doesnt get hurt??? AYFKM?

    Jesus...

The Jets would be lucky if they could get a 6th rounder for Tebow.

Read my post again, I was talking about his blocking which we could have sorely used this year. Our QB has gotten killed since, LT, Richardson and Hartsock have been gone. It's clear from your post that you don't understand that TE's also block for the running game and to protect the QB.

I agree Sanchez sucks, but don't think a QB alone will make any difference. You wanted McElroy what good was he. 11 sacks, receivers covered, no one can make this offense go.

Exactly, how did Brady do last year in the SB when he actually had to contend with a pass rush.

You're right most of these guys don't want to look further than Sanchez, they think if you fix Sanchez you fix the team. Fix Shotty and you fix the team. They don't want to hear an overall assessment of all the weaknesses.

We need two new Qbs next year. One vet and one to develop. We also need a RT, OG, WR. If we are effective at filling those holes we'll get back to the playoffs.
