Yeah, its totally McElroy's fault that Austin Howard let Phillips get a free shot on McElroy. No shit a guy is going to fumble when his arm gets hit with a free shot from an OLB.
HA you are rewriting history. In year 1, most QBs could take us. In year 2, we needed Sanchez. He saved us against Houston, Detroit, Cleveland, and Denver that year. Not every QB could have done that. People like to combine 2009 and 2010, but they were different years. We actually needed decent QB play in 2010 and we got enough times and late in games to get to 11-5.
Little hard to hold onto the ball when the DL gets there right at the exact moment he's going back to pass...but I usually don't fault QB's on fumbles unless the QB runs into someone's ass or just drops the ball like Sanchez did in NE when he was squirming forward trying to make an 8-yard loss into a 7-yard loss for no real reason.
Did you guys watch Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman's first years. They were both AWFUL!!!! Not saying McElroy will ever even be good, but he needs time. Sanchez got enough time to show he sucked.
It's his first game. He's a QB that can keep us in games but can't win them, and thats after 1 game of experience. He can be a solid backup
and he fumbles  main forums just got a lot more interesting (sorry, had to do this with all the nonsense from others this season)
Yup and now we're going to watch them all week debate Sanchez vs. McElroy with both groups blaming everything else on Sparano. Rex must go. Once again he shows his stupidity in this game when HE goes with the wildcat.
considering the circumstances McElroy hasn't been THAT bad. If Jets fans were patient with Mark for 4 years until he proved to be unable to be a starting QB, then McElroy should get that same benefit of the doubt.
