If you are going to argue freedom of speech rights at least spell forefathers correctly. Also, the first amendment does not protect speech which could be considered fighting words or speech used to incite violence. Get your facts right. Also, the medium is completely irrelevant and your nor I are in a position to assume his motives. His statements are flat out not protected by freedom of speech under the first amendment. If he were to be arrested and if his lawyers were to motion for dismissal on the grounds of first amendment protection it wouldn't last for more than 5 minutes. He could be charged with aggravated harassment or aggravated stalking (given his history of documented comments) which is a Class E Felony in some states. If he actually shows up at practice like he suggested he would it could open up an entirely new can of charges and at the very least entirely solidify his hypothetical current set of charges.
Exactly. Yeah some people threaten others coming from just anger but this guy got way to specific. Most likely nothing will happen, but you can't ignore this IMO. I checked his twitter and writers are tweeting him asking for interviews and shit. People are just looking for good stories, hopefully nothing happens but I would take action. No matter how angry I get with my Jets, it won't get to a point that I threaten someone, not even messing around.
This can't come down to looks. Anyone with the wrong mentality can get crazy. People threaten over the internet occasionally, but not to this extent and this specific.
Making fun of grammar is weak bro. What are you a perfect human dictionary?Like you never used spell check. People get the point. I knew it was either the 2. I went with the easier one.
I mean if you are going to make a freedom of speech argument (whether correct or incorrect), you would be best suited to spell forefathers correctly if you wish to maintain a sense of credibility. Just sayin.
And it took 12 minute's to edit your post smarty. I can't win a spelling be but I bet I can out build you. You probably call someone to help you screw a lite bulb in. LoL.
Who cares its just some idiot who got to mad and expressed his frustration in a stupid way , I feel his pain but he went way to far saying that kinda stuff, You could have said alot less and not came off like a fuckin lunatic
I edited it to add additional points. But that's cool. I have no idea where you got the light bulb idea from. But cool man, you can lay concrete. If I ever need construction work done, I'll call you because you'll probably spell everything wrong on the contract alleviating my responsibility to pay you.
Ok man. Whatever. This is a case of me stating that we as the people of america have rights. Who kow if someone hacked into his account or it's a fake. People on here are calling for the guy to go to prison for life and waste tax payer's dollars on a bullshit twit, twat or whatever.I don't use twitter. That could be a picture of someone else for all we know. I hope it does not happen to you or me.But what if it is a hacked account. I take twitter responses as a cowards way to threaten someone. And you are saying because we do have certain rights. Maybe not the speech act. But not to just throw away the key philosophy!
EDIT: Sorry, I got it wrong. haha i mean really...lite bulb? i'm not going to say anything about that because its silly. But if you are going to attempt to make a case for the First Amendment it's probably prudent to spell forefathers correctly. That's all im saying.
If it's a hacked account they can easily confirm that with an IP address check. Given his history of interactions with the Jets on the topic, the hack theory is extremely doubtful. He has the right to a fair trial. He does not however, have the right to threaten death upon someone and claim freedom of speech. Well, he can claim it I suppose, but he would be wrong.
If you want to argue punctuation, a comma would be totally acceptable. If he placed a period after "lol" it would technically be considered improper English and a fragmented sentence - but let's not go there. I actually never point out spelling on a message board because I don't care at all. But if you are going to discuss the Constitution and it's amendments just spell forefathers correctly, if you wish to be taken seriously. That's all I'm saying here.
You are completely missing the point, Sanchez has rights too. Not just this jackass. If this guy goes through with actually causing harm to Sanchez then even more tax payer dollars would be wasted which seems to be something you are more concerened about as opposed to the safety of our QB. If this idiot actually did go through with it imagine the wastes of tax dollars in court fees, and the monetary payout to the Jets and the Sanchez family for ignoring the tweets of this moron. Sorry but with the way things are going in this country with the easy access whackjobs have to weapons that kill multiple people you have to take this serious. His threat was way too specific to ignore. I've got news for you... if you make a threat towards an airline even if it's out of anger the FBI is going to pay you a visit. It's not freedom of speech to make specific threats of death towards individuals. It's against the law in many states.
It's really disheartening reading all of that. Hate and racism isn't new, but I thought we would've learned by now. I'm not defending Sanchez at all, because I know he sucked this year but what that guy did crossed the line. If I was Sanchez, I would ask for my release.
Calm down bud. I'm not a perfect speller nor do I care how people spell it was just something I thought would make someone laugh. And BTW, a comma there is completely acceptable. I was laughing as I was writing it. If I laughed then wrote it then yeah. Its all good though homie. No hard feelings.
