You are completely wrong. Not sure of the exact law in NY, but in Florida, if you make a specific threat, create a well rounded fear, and have the means to follow it through, it's illegal. He made the threat. Considering he was specific in time and nature, if they don't grab him between now and then, it will have created a well rounded fear (no doubt security will be beefed up). The decider is whether he has the means. If he can get to Jets practice, he's almost there. I assure you detectives will be on him to see if he has weapons, specifically firearms as articulated in the threats. If so, he's screwed, as he should be. It's similar yelling fire in a crowded theater. It's not protected under freedom of speech.
Yeah its a very low percentage that he does anything, but this shouldn't go unnoticed. There's a difference between speaking freely and threating someones life. We are a free country but can we go to the store and take anything for free? Not legally. Point here is this has to be addressed, I saw a page on Friday after the shooting that the shooter posted a couple days earlier that he was going to kill himself and everyone would know. I don't know if it was legit but things like this can't just get pushed out of the way. Make an example of the guy.
I don't wanna get into specific's but all he did was tweet "I am gonna kill you". So throw him in jail and us tax payers can pay for his free meals and whatnot because of a spur of the moment bad decision.

The fan, whose handle is "@BraveGrancru", tweeted shortly after the loss "DON'T COME TO PRACTICE WEDNESDAY I PROMISE YOU BULLETS EVERYWHERE... @Mark_Sanchez". As if that wasn't enough, the fan also posted "SANCHEZ BETTER HAVE ARMED SECURITY WEDNESDAY AT PRACTICE!! YOU THINK IMMA SIT HERE & WATCH THIS BULL****?? TUHHH @nyjets". He had several other tweets, including one where he attached a photo - which he identified as himself - in a Jets cap, also stating that "I SWARE (sic) IF I EVER SEE YOU SON N DEAD IDC YOU ARE THE WORST QB IN THE NFL YOU MEXICAN B---- @Mark_Sanchez" The link was posted earlier in the thread.
