I'll say again as before ...

Matt Moore deserves another shot somewhere to be a starter given what he did last year and the game he had against you guys this year.

    Tremendous team player.

If the Jets were to get a "name" this offseason, I would bet the flashiest one would be Vick but he would also be semi-expensive and a declining option IMO

I'd give Vick a good look.

So we need to bring a veteran QB to compete and very potentially start next season. I think Mike Vick still has something in the tank. Let him roll and run and see if he still has it. Who else is out there?

Not unless he plays as some sort of community service. We have no money to pay him what he will want.

If we could bring him in for little money I'd at least take a look.

Any smart game managers that will be out there after the season is done?

Alex Smith may be the best game manager available in the offseason

I wouldn't mind giving him a shot. With a better OLine I think that he could be successful. If he wins the QB job keep him until a good prospect comes out of the draft.

I think Alex would command top dollar based on his last 2 seasons.....might not be in our range?

Alex Smith is a shitty QB who was coached up to look better than he is by Harbaugh, who's an outstanding coach. That's why he pulled the trigger because he knew Kaep had the bigger upside and he could make him succeed through the learning period.

Here's my pie in the sky dream scenario. Woody axes Tannenbaum and Rex. Throws top dollars at Polian and Sean Payton. The Jets trade up and take Geno Smith and a new era of Jets football begins.

Its certainly far fetched, but dreams do come true sometimes and it would satisfy Woody's undying appetite for attention.

I can't believe all the whining I see here on QB names being thrown around. Guys, we're not getting an elite QB anytime soon. With a good defense (which we have), and an improved running game, all we need is a QB to not totally suck (see Sanchez, Mark). I would sign up for anyone of the following in a heartbeat: Smith, Vick, Rivers, Flynn.

Are any of these guys elite, or even above average? Probably not. I just want someone who's competent enough to run an offense and not turn the ball over 5 freakin' times a day and can complete <60% of his passes.

We are a 7-8 win team WITH a bottom 5 QB in the NFL. Get an upgrade at the most important position, it adds a few wins easily.

At this point that would be an upgrade. I'll take a 2 turnover game instead of 5 eight days a week.

There are three reasons Vick didn't work in Philly but will in New York: Here, in order of importance.

1.) Andy had this fantasy that Vick could become a mobile Tom Brady. He never runs the ball, even though I truly believe they have the best RB in the league (Yeah, even over Peterson). Rex won't make Vick throw 50 times a game. He'll embrace him for what he is. An offensive weapon himself that can occasionally chuck a 60 yard pass down the field. I think him and Hill (provided Hill learns how to catch the damn ball) will be a dynamic combo.

2.) The O-line in Philly is a fucking joke, and Vicks biggest flaw as a QB is he likes to hang onto the ball. I realize we have problems on the right side (which I acknowledge is Vicks blind-side, and that could be problematic) but compared to the Eagles we're rock solid. Seriously, they're by far the worst in league. And you could even make the argument that (if you count the injuries to Kelce and Herremans) they might be historically the worst ever. I'd like to see the stats.

3.) We need to get back to a run based offense. It worked for us 4 years ago, it works for San Fran and Houston and Minnesota. Don't give me that it doesn't work in the NFL bullshit.

Vick would improve our running game drastically. Obviously because he'll account for a ton of rushing yards himself. But also; mobile QBs make it way easier for the RBs. I really hope we end up with a guy like Ellington in the second round, but even if we're stuck with these same mediocre backs, their numbers would increase significantly.

I'd also like to note, that living in Philly, I learned there is a huge misconception about Mike. He truly is a natural leader that cares deeply about winning and motivating his teammates. This needs that so much.

Look if we had a shot at Geno Smith, I'd sag go for it. But the QB draft class for this year is terribly shallow. We'll probably have a 10-11 pick... Who's gonna be there that you would hand the franchise over to?

Yeah, like the Jets need PETA picketing the stadium on game day alongside everything else.

Woody is never going to go get a QB that might hurt ticket sales before he even steps on the field.

Henne has a 2 year contract with the Jags, probably be released after this season when Borat the Owner cleans house.
