Not here to flame Tebow. Just like another poster stated, I do feel sorry for the kid. He's seeing the darkside of the NFL right now and is suffering the consequences of a bad decision although I do think the Jets sold him a hoopty to get him to come here.

I still don't understand how on earth could this CS PREPLAN sending Tebow into the game on a particular series regardless of the situation. I just don't get it. Tebow seems like a smart young man so I would assume he would ask to be released at some point this offseason. If the Jets are becoming a classy organization, they'll grant that request as Tebow has been a good soldier.

That series of downs was a waste of Tebow's talent as everyone in the building knew what was coming. Hell, they really didn't have to huddle. The Titans blitzed, forcing him right and as we oldtimers say, that's all she wrote.

We'll see what this HOF/Crackerjack CS has in mind for these last two meaningless games. If they were smart, they would start Tebow and let him play one entire game start to finish. At least one out of the last two games.

Okay... I would agree with that.

But where would the 9ers find another dual threat QB?

Oh.... you meant Tebow... that won't work because Tebow is only a running threat. The biggest threat he poses when throwing it is to that fan in the 10th row who might get his beer knocked out of his hand.

It was a marriage of convenience. I don't think the jets had to do much selling to get Tebow to choose them over the jags. New York provided one thing important to Tebow that Jacksonville did not. In Tebow's own words when he chose New York (though tried to say he had no choice) was that it provided a "bigger platform." Bigger media.

You gotta remember, even though football is a big part of his life, there is one aspect that is bigger than that. Spreading the word of his faith. He flat out said the NFL was his platform for that in anoter interview. In many ways, he was quite successful with that goal in Denver too. It made the news that there were more google searches for John 3:16 than ever, and it prompted a commercial about midseason where one group read it to the public.

Won't give my opinion on THAT, as it has nothing to do with what I think of him as a quarterback, but in some ways, it appears he was successful in bringing awareness to Christianity. ...which was his aim with all this "platform" business.

So i don't believe it took a lot of coaxing from the Jets as Tebow believes he serves a higher purpose and can do better with that in New York than in Dumpwater Florida.

In the end though, this "marriage of convenience" as I call it will end in a couple weeks. (A couple months officially, but does anyone think he's not as good as gone in a couple weeks?) I think both sides will end up regretting the move.

He's most definitely gone. Honestly though the Steelers don't have a viable backup in any form on their team. Maybe they'll give a 5th for him or 6th. A draft pick is a draft pick. Right?

Are you separating yourself from the Jet fan base completely?

What have you come to a Jets website for? Just for Tebow?

For the record, I am not minimizing your presence, I've been absent for a while and trying to figure out the group that dwells in this part of the forum....

Jack its about 7 or 8 tebow fans...its not a big group and most of us are here because we are tebow fans. Trust me when I tell you that we also wanted to root for the jets and become true fans of the team.

We were verbally abused every step of the way , called names , nasty, nasty stuff . So its been impossible to be part of the fan base here. We have been treated as pariahs and a cancer all because we are fans of a back up QB which by the way is a player on the team and universally regarded as a good hardworking team mate. Put it this way, Denver fans who hate tebow have come on to troll the 7 or 8 tebow fans (particularly two denver fans ) and have had free reign and treated great by the fans of this site, even though (at least one of them) openly is rooting AGAINST the Jets.

pretty weak if you ask me, not everyone has been like that but many have.

You can be a "true fan" of one team. Which is it?

I am a cowboy since before you were born, the year was 1977

I was not only speaking for myself, mine is the "root part" others though in those 7 or 8 fTebow fans did not have an NFL team.

it does not matter anymore, who cares man...

I don't know, but it would be the best place for him to go. Two separate things.

Not easily step in, but Harbaugh showed he can adapt to his QBs and the offense wouldn't have to change much. Colin is a better passer and quicker runner but Harbaugh could tweak the offense to fit Tebow.

See above. They already have a set of plays that players are comfortable with and Tebow most likely would be. They wouldn't be able to run Colin's offense, but Harbaugh showed he can adapt and he could probably find a way to adapt the offense to Tebow.

Your post really sums up my thoughts. Not a Tebow fan initially but he really deserved better treatment this season. Wherever Tebow lands next, I've gotta root for his success. Hopefully, his next team will be more appreciative towards his skillset. After watching some terrible QB play this season, Tebow definitely deserves a shot somewhere in the league.

Also, Tebow has a lot of fans but he's been humble. Showed class on & off the field & in his press conferences.

As Cowboysfan said, I came here hoping to become a fan of the Jets and enjoy watching them play football. Didn't exactly receive a warm welcome. I am a fan of "sports", whether they are teams or particular players. My only unquestionable allegiance is to the University of Florida Football and Basketball teams. Underneath that is the Miami Heat, then on a lower tier the New York Giants and New York Knicks (I'm originally a New Yorker from Westchester).

Wanted to be a part of the Jets nation. Now I want out. I followed the Broncos last year and had a good time learning about the team. I still root for them a little bit. Wish you all luck. Hope you get things straightened out.
