Really? Are u serious? Rivers not that good this year because he there only player on offense. He got no weapons and most of his Ints come when he trying to make a play and bring his team back.
Philip Rivers does not = Mark Sanchez and it's not even close. Not even a little close. Comparing Gabbert, Kolb or Ryan Fitzpatrick is fair.
Completely serious. And if you replace Rivers with Sanchez you'd be laughed at here... but for the most part it would be true.
Rivers is not as terrible as Sanchez but I never want to see him as a Jet, let alone trade Revis for him.
There is a reason why Giants got rid of Rivers and got Manning in the same night. Rivers is on his way out from SD and you want to pick him up? Go for Landry Jones from Okhaloma, he is going to be a 2nd round pick
All he got is a aging Gates. There best WR is a guy they pulled off his couch a few games into the season. Who else does he got?
Danario Alexander, Floyd, Royal, Meachem. I'm just saying the guy has enough. He's not deprived of weapons. The team isn't loaded, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he has not been surrounded with sufficient skill.
Kerley was the only actual option in our passing game for weeks. Bottom line is to say that Rivers has been surrounded with no talent is flat untrue.
Rivers just got kicked in the nuts since he pretty much lost Gates (due to decline/injury) Sproles, and Vincent Jackson.
his talent around him has dropped off yes....but not to the point that he's been surrounded by nothing is really all im saying.
He really doesn't have a true #1 WR. I think if we got Rivers and when Holmes comeback next season and bring back Edwards I believe we could have a very good offense. Sanchez doesn't scare anybody but Rivers on the other hand does.
I agree that Rivers is a true upgrade. I don't even disagree that the talent around Rivers has clearly declined. I'm really just saying that Rivers has had serviceable talent around him this year. He hasn't been devoid of talent around him.
Rivers may be better, but he's definitely overrated. We can't acquire another overrated QB and expect greatness. 25th in the league in Yds/Attempt
Rivers is a better passer and more of a gunslinger but he's incredibly prone to boneheaded mistakes just like Sanchez, and he's often the cause of his team's losses, just like Sanchez.
