yes. because i know we wont get to 9 wins, let alone all the help we need on top of that.... plus, if we did by some miracle get in, we still would have sanchez at QB, and thus have 0 chance to go anywhere. i'll obviously root for us to win, but i have 0 vested in the team at this point.
yup. jets making the playoffs could be the worst thing to happen to them. also for more excuse making and not making the many needed changes.
zero chance like when he helped us reach 2 title games? we don't need major changes. we need to tweak.
how many superbowl appearances did we make? exactly. no, we need major changes. an lots of them: -We need a new QB, or at least to move in a direction where we look towards a younger player at the position for 2014. -We need at least 1 new gaurd -We need to revamp our entire LB corps. -We need a pass rusher -We need an explosive player out of the backfield -We need veteran help at WR -We may even need a new GM, head coach, and offensive co ordinator we are a bad team, that is weakest at the most important positions(QB, pass rusher). we were bad last year. we will be bad again next year. we need to start a rebuild so that in 2014 and forward we are good again
we didn't make either SB app b/c the D failed to show each time getting ripped up after we had a 17-6 lead at Indy and allowing Pitt to run all over the to get a big lead in Pitt. we don't need a new QB, just weapons around him. we need a pass rusher, need some safety help(assuming Landy is gone), need some OL help on the right side. we have a good coaching staff, it's asinine to want to get rid of them.
it doesnt work that way. you cant just blame everyone when we lose, and give mark credit when we win. the offense scored 3 points against the steelers in the first half of that game. and thats with 4 downs to score from inside the 5 on one possesion. Also, when you get deep in the playoffs, you are going to face good teams. at some point you need your QB to carry you. like eli did last year. like rodgers did the year before. like brees did the year before. Sanchez, regardless of who is around him, will never do what eli did last season. he isnt capable of winning a shootout vs a good qb he has had weapons before, and been a bottom 5 QB with those weapons. yes, yes, and yes. but we need a QB much more then we need those other things. we arent losing games because of the defense or lack of a pass rush. we are losing games because we have the worst QB in football this season. Are they good? rex i think is a good co ordinator, not sure he is a great head coach. im not sure sporano is a good offensive co ordinator. and we need a new ST coach since ours is retiring.
I dont do that, mark was part of the reason we won so much '09/'10, he's part of the reason we have struggled. Nowhere have I said he carried us in '09/'10 but he also isn't THE reason we have streugled the last year or so. Eli carried the Giants? That's funny, I saw a Giant D SHUT OUT Atl, domimante the best O in the game in the div rd then saw Eli do nothing in SF but get 2 fumbles DEEP in SF territory to win. The biggest difference btw/ mark '10 at Pitt and Eli '11 at SF was an incredibly close play was ruled a fumbled for us and an obvious fumble was ruled no fumble for the Giants ro the results change for both teams. he was never a bottom 5 QB in this league until this season. if we win out against 3 bad teams there's a good chance we'll make our 3rd postseason in 4 years and you want to get rid of the HC? even if we don't make it the fact that we are alive w/ everything that has happened this year should telly ou all you need to know.
He isn't? I mean, he leads the NFL in turnovers over that span. Not sure how you can say he isnt the reason. i mean, in our losses the last 2 seasons, here are his stats: 15 games 62.4 QB Rating 11 Touchdowns 21 Interceptions 12 Fumbles LOST 53.8% completions 211.7 Yards per game 5.9 yards per attempt So in those 15 losses he turned it over 33 times yet he wasnt the main reason we struggled? he he was. QB rating(bottom 5 in 3 of 4 seasons): 2009 - 28th in the NFL 2010 - 27th in the NFL 2011 - 23rd in the NFL 2012 -29th in the NFL Completion percentage(bottom 5 all 4 seasons) 2009 - 29th in the NFL 2010 - 30th in the NFL 2011 - 28th in the NFL 2012 -28th in the NFL Turnovers(bottom 5 3 of 4 seasons) 2009 - 31st in the NFL 2010 - 30th in the NFL 2011 - 20th in the NFL 2012 -29th in the NFL
you can give me all the fantasy #s you want, the position is about making plays to win and up until this year he did that for us consistently(and even at times this year he has done this).
Fantasy stats? so when mark sanchez throws 3 interceptions in a game or fumbles that doesnt count in the real game? that only counts in fantasy? because i could have sworn when sanchez threw those picks to kerry rhodes, the cardinals got to keep the ball
Mark was brutal in that game, he's been brutal most of the season- hat is your point? where have I said he was good this year?
my point was that things like interceptions, fumbles, incompletions arent just "fantasy stats". they have a huge impact on the game. and sanchez has been consistently at the bottom of the league in those things. not just this year, but his entire career.
I looked at this topic and said, "No way are people ready to throw in the towel." I was wrong. What a bunch of pussies.
I consider these final 3 games the Jets playoff run. There should be no excuse to lose any of these last 3 and not finish with a winning record playoffs or no playoffs given who they are playing. If the playoffs happen then great. If not, then so be it because realistically they have very little chance in the playoffs anyway. I know the whole "Any give Sunday" bit but realistically I would just enjoy the fact they made it after all the craziness of this season. I have no expectations if they happen to sneak in.
Until week 17 the only team that can eliminate the Jets is the Jets (with the help of whoever they are playing of course).
