i am under no illusions that they aren't anything more than they are...however, in the final 3 weeks of the season there is no reason to do anything but hope they make the playoffs IMO..otherwise what are we doing here?
I'll keep hope until its officially statistically over, no matter how painful that may be. The return of Braylon Edwards has upticked my enthusiasm for this week at least.
To me, waking up the morning before a playoff Jets game is like waking up on Christmas morning. I just feel all warm and tingly when the Jets are in the playoffs, even when they have no realistic shot of going anywhere. Maybe it's because football is so unpredictable, so one can never say never. To answer your question, FUCK NO the season is not over for me.
I watch every Jets game no matter what. I don't think they will make the playoffs this year, but even if they lose tomorrow night, I'll be watching and rooting the last 2 games. I remember sitting through every game during the Kotite era. Just because.
Wonder out of the people who say it's over, how many of them are anti Nacho and just want him to fail.. Would be curious to see...
My Kotite era routine started out as: drink a beer before the game, drink a couple more during it, go to sleep on the couch some time after halftime like clockwork. The Jets were so hard to watch during that span that I kind of anesthetized myself during the games and then woke up afterwards. By 1996 I was going out for brunch every Sunday during the football season and coming home half in the bag for the kickoff. I'd be snoring on the couch by the second half. When Parcells showed up I think I went the first half of the season without drinking a beer during a game. The novelty of watching competitive football that didn't result in a routine collapse after halftime made the Jets interesting again.
I always wake up nervous the day of a Jets playoff game. I love that feeling of playing in a playoff game. The season for me isn't over until there are no more games to be played. This season is gonna be weird going forward because we have to win out and there has to be multiple scenarios, so do I think we will get to the playoffs this year? I'm not sure. Will I watch and root for my team, my longest attachment that isn't family, the next 3 games? HELL YES.
And in this case, there's more than math on their side -- one of the teams ahead of them (Colts) is an undermanned team with a rookie QB who may be hitting a wall. The other is the Bengals, subject to the "Bengal factor."
At the very least I am interested to see what happens with the team, whether it falls apart like last year or if they hang together.
tough question because this garbage offense can't put up any points and easily can shit the bed ending the season. Also, listening to all the callers on sports radio saying it'd be a travesty if the jets made the playoffs (giants fans lol), it'd be hilarious to see the giants shit the bed and fall just short.
Very excited for tomorrow's game after that BIG Dallas win! Someone's going to need to call 911 if Sanchez connects on a bomb to Edwards.
Wow...what a game today. So glad Cowboys pulled the win. I was starting to get a little nervous there. If Cowboys had lost, Jets season could have been considered finished, cuz Steelers were not going to lose to the Browns.
Once the Steelers and Colts lost today, I knew we were going to make the playoffs. I just know it. Hell, I'm so psyched that I'm posting here on the weekend (something I rarely do).
Man, I hope you're right. My biggest concern is the Titans game. If they win tomorrow night I'll officially be amped.
