We need to take the time we have to evaluate everyone. even guys you "know dont provide any awnsers." Tebow has played 1 full NFL season. to say you have seen all you need from ANY nfl player after 1 season is just irresponsible as a GM or scout. There is no harm to seeing what he can do. He hasnt been given 1 full series all season. to say it isnt worth it to give him one is just not valid. You see what he can do, you see what McElroy can do. same with anyone else who is young and hasnt gotten much burn. As far as tebow not being on the team, im fine with it if he doesnt add value. but I can't see how he isnt worth being a special teams player/emergency QB. he is certainly worth that. i mean he is what 4/5 on 4th down conversions? if used right, he can help and anyone who can help is worth keeping.
Why, just because he's a Jet? I would've thought Greg McElroy. ;-) After 2 SB MVP's and the Giants dropping 52 on the Saints? Yes, Eli threw a pick 6 alright, but let's not forget that he also threw FOUR TD passes to his own guys. I'm no Giant fan, I dislike the Giants (outside of Coughlin & Manning). Manning, for whatever flaws he may have, sold me during last year's playoff game in SF when he was getting his brains beat in throughout the 2nd half yet he took care of the ball. Neither offense (esp. come the 4th quarter) was going to score, i.e. that game was going to come down to a turnover, and it did: Ted Ginn's replacement muffing that punt. Ballgame. Back to our QB. Sadly, Mark scored ZERO points last week vs. a horrible Arizona team and ZERO points for the entire 1st half yesterday vs a lousy 2-10 J'ville team. Add to that, our QB plain and simple has no 'clock' in his head (throw it away!) and all-too-often puts the damn ball on the ground. Yes you can blame the lack of talent and all, but going through progressions quickly, throwing it away when called for and taking care of the ball are separate issues and ones that are part of the maturation process.
Amazing people are still defending him. The guy has always sucked , always! He sucked with shitty , he sucked with weapons , he sucked w/out weapons. And no , he didnt lead us to anything and never will. Some people just need to quit watching football. 1) He cant read D's 2) He has terrible footwork 3) Very inaccurate 4) Fumbles all the time 5) No leadership or command of the huddle or game. None of the above are up for debate. There facts. Not my opinion. Rex and Tanny need to go with him. This team in shambles but bc we beat the farkin jags lol , people think we "still have a shot" etc. This team hasnt beat a good team in how many years? Were the biggest joke going. People feel sorry for me when i tell them im a fan. They dont even bother making fun of me or cracking jokes. They get this look on their face like they just ate 500 sour patch kids and say stuff like , " ouch " , " oh man sorry to hear that ". Its like a family member died. Every sunday it feels like someone died.
Talking about Tebow here is a digression. I disagree with you about him, quite simply. I think in fact we have seen more than enough of him to know he is inaccurate and has poor fundamentals to run a conventional NFL passing attack, which is what the Jets need. There's no reason to think any further time with the Jets will change those considerations. He is not the team's future.
He was never going to be in the team's future which is why it sucks wasting cap space on this guy. Let him play in Jacksonville and give us Cecil Shorts or something.
theres a good film breakdown in a thread on the first page...saying guys aren't in the right spot isnt true enough of a time to say that's what it is...more often than not, its very much sanchez not making the right decisions and stalling in the pocket...this is a fact.
Watching the Pats play tonight really hammers home how bad we are. How far Muck is from being even mediocre.
Tom Brady is mediocre? I consider him a top 3 QB in the league right now. Right now I see an overrated Texans getting beat like the overrated Falcons team got beat. You are what your record says, and that Texans record is going to have one more loss.
I see this and I see a guy that with weapons has a lot of upside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LL8FHwqDTs
Hopefully Braylon signs tomorrow. I guarentee if he does, and plays...we will see a different mark on monday
When you are counting on a guy who hasn't played on your team in two years coming off of the waiver wire and making a big impact, you know you're in trouble.
that is quite a contradiction you have run face first into. if you are what your record says you are, you inherently can't be overrated because the record speaks for itself and is absolute by your own claim. and the Texans record says they are tied as the best team in the NFL with the Falcons.
The emotion that they had after a big play then was great. 3:11 and 3:56 great clips. Mark doesn't do any of that anymore. He needs to regain some of his swagger back. Also, at 1:16 the pass to Keller. He got rid of the ball so quickly there, this year he would just hold onto it and roll up into a fetal position.
Really funny you say that about Mark. I was watching videos from 2009 and 2010. Especially when sanchez would score on bootleg runs, he would celebrate and look confident. Now he lacks any emotion. He's just kind of going through the motions. I hope braylon helps him find that fun again if he comes back
