:rofl2: I honestly have no idea how something like that costs, my area has no major sport teams for me to ever be in such a position. I could buy season tickets (70 games I think) to a local Single A affliate for the Rays for something like, 700 bucks or so, so I can imagine what the PSL's are.
Was he able to go into NE in the 2010 playoffs after that debacle on MNF and still pass the test? The guy hasn't been given a fair shot with talent. ANY OTHER CITY would still love him. It just baffles me how quick the fan base has turned
yeah it's a shame how the whole psl thing went down. but thats an other argument for a different day.
Are you kidding? Even assuming that Sanchez hadn't been throwing balls into his offensive lineman's backs and getting them picked off in the process by defensive linemen at the end of last season, multiple times no less, did you not watch the butt fumble? Have you not seen the total lack of confidence that the coaching staff has in Sanchez at this point, with the safest possible calls on offense ad nauseum? I'd have agreed with your line of thought midway through last season. I was still on the fence even after the terrible finish to that season in which Sanchez was exposed as incapable of standing up to pressure. It's impossible to defend his play at this point. He just isn't a very good QB right now and he hasn't been for most of the last year. It's not fair to put it all on him but that doesn't change the fact that the odds on Mark Sanchez leading the Jets to a win against an actually good team are miniscule at this point. If the Jets gave him good talent around him is it possible that this would change? Sure it is. But I'd rather they go find a good QB to put that good talent around.
His "replacement" is the backup QB. If the backup is injured, then the 3rd string QB gets activated for gameday. Once the backup is cleared to play by the medical staff and the coach, he resumes his role. In a normal world, the consequences for fucking up again would be that he gets benched again, this time for a longer duration if not permanently. What Rex will actually do is open for debate
first of all. I did see the 'butt fumble'. I was sitting 11th row on the 50 like I have for the last 17 years. And mark was a stephen hill drop away from beating the pats this year. I just think every one is overreacting. People around him make a difference. A huge difference. He will never be an elite QB. Im sick of the Brady, Rodgers, Brees...etc. comparisons. He needs a QB coach. Look what Harbaugh did for Smith. I've been watching videos the past few days of every pass from Sanchez during the 09-10 seasons. It's impossible to debate the fact that he had confidence to the moon then. He would fit passes into tight windows and go for shots much more often. Even watching interviews from 09-10, his demeanor was so different. I think this blame falls on Rex and Tanny. Removing alot of weapons that he had chemistry with...and choosing to make the wrong decisions.
The Jets have never, arguably, had an elite QB. Obviously Namath, but from a statistic standpoint he was never truly elite. Take a look at Terry Bradshaw's stats his first 5 years... imagine if they would have cut him loose.
Completely different situations. The Steelers went from a low talent collection of losers when they drafted Bradshaw to a strong team by his third season. They had a front office who knew what they were doing and the organization was capable of covering for Bradshaw's slow development. The Jets went from a stacked but aging team Sanchez's rookie season to a low talent team now. They don't have a front office who can cover for Sanchez developmental failures. They didn't have a plan on offense last year beyond "pray that Sanchez turns into Peyton Manning II". They still don't have a plan on offense now, which is why the Jets offense blows chunks with Sanchez at the helm. It's not fair to Sanchez but to tell you the truth I don't care much about that. I don't root for the NY Sanchezes, I root for the NY Jets and Mark Sanchez stands in the way of the Jets success as much as anybody else at this point. If the Steelers had not made the leap to contender in Terry Bradshaw's third season there is no way they'd have kept him through the years that followed. Again it's not fair but so what?
love it. people probably don't realize this but Sanchez is probably one of the most popular NFL player among the latino demographics. Woody realizes this. he won't let Mark go for some guy that's just fade into the background.
I am not understanding your point. What does Sanchez appealing to the Latino demographic have to do with winning, his QB play, and or the direction the organization decides to take?
interesting that your tickets carried over to the same row from the old stadium to the new. yeah look at what harbaugh did for smith, benched him..
Bring in some legit talent on the offensive side of the ball and a legit OC and Sanchez can be fine in NY. He has proven to be able to play in this market, in the playoffs, on the road, and in the 4th quarter. He has shown enough and dealt with enough like a professional to be able to say if you got the kid some talent around him he can be a solid QB in NY.
111 Yards against the Jags in a Job saving game for Sanchez is ok. We will be sitting here three years from now at 6-7 having the same discussion while RG3 or Andrew Luck will be hoisting a SB trophy. He should be replaced now so we do not lose another three years.
I wonder what Giant fans feel about Eli when he continues to throw pick 6s and still to this day throw the ball up for grabs.
Well, considering the fact he scored 52 points against them, I don't think they can be too upset. Eli and Sanchez are too completely different QBs. When you win two Superbowls, you're forgiven for your mistakes.
