We barely scratched by a team last week that's losing 51-0 this week. Pretty sobering reality check.

And Jacksonville has a 2-11 record and took Houston to overtime almost beating them.

Reality check. This is the NFL

Pitt plays at Dallas next week. For one Dallas is better and has a real shot a playoffs and division. Following they play the Bengals basically fighting each other for the last WC spot - nowhere near unrealistic.

The most uncharacteristic thing would be us rattling off 5 straight wins regardless of the competition.

Does nobody understand this means nothing in the NFL. We lost to a team 45-3 then weeks later beat them 28-21, that was the Pats in 2010-2011. It means nothing, everything changes Sunday to Sunday. We beat the Cardnials who beat the PAts who swept us.

We easily beat the Colts (so the Jags) who have beaten the Packers. What a reality check for the Packers!

Stop the playoff talk. What has this team done Tom make anyone believe we have the talent to beat any of the teams that will make the playoffs?

Do you even watch the games? The Jets are a bad team. 1 win over a team with a winning record since the beginning of the 2011 season. We all want them to be good, but reality intervenes.

Well, Miami lost. It's a three team race for one of the wildcard spots (unless Indy just has a massive choke).

That being said, who honestly thought that we would even be talking about this right now?

What does your first sentence have to do with the second one? We can talk playoffs and still get crushed in the first round.

We aren't playing a good team remaining on our schedule. We aren't a good team either, so we can sneak into the playoffs. Will be get crushed if we magically make it, probably. But we can talk playoffs since we aren't playing a >.500 left on our schedule and we go @TEN, vs. SD, @BUF. Not the scariest thing ever and we get SD at home instead of traveling West

Who said we weren't a bad team? LOL

I was stating a fact that any team can win on any day in the NFL.

Let me fix that picture for you:

See, I'm good with this. It's logical. My problem is with the people comparing this year to '09. The Jets are a bad team, but they may be better than a bunch of terrible teams. I don't think they will make the playoffs, but if they do, they will likely be crushed.

They don't have a top rushing offense or a top ranked defense. If they get in, it's because they are amongst the best of a lot of bad teams and they lucked out by having a bunch of bad teams on their schedule late. I still think they will lose to Tenn and SD.

I hope I'm wrong. That being said, there just isn't enough talent to go anywhere in the playoffs. Hell, would anybody be shocked if they finish 6-10?

That's my issue at this point. I'm a fight to the last minute guy but I don't want to see the Jets lose a 62-7 game on national TV because we squeaked in to the playoffs again and ran into a real team in their park on their day.

We won't do that, I promise. We get in, we will at LEAST play a competitive game. I think we'll make some noise.

But, we probably are going to need to sign Braylon Edwards or something.

How is having a bunch of bad teams on the schedule late any different from winning teams against bad teams early and then losing out to end the season with the same record?

If the Jets schedule was reversed yet the same outcomes occured in the games, they would have the same record that they would if they won out the rest of the season now.

We'd be viewing it as a collapse and more people would be up in arms because it would remind them of the end to last year. It would also be more obvious that the Jets can't beat teams with winning records with any regularity. Since there are none left, people tend to forget that.

That's the difference if the schedule was reversed.

6-10 wouldn't be shocking either. We have only lost to one bad team in Miami and only beaten one good team in IND.

Our wins are ARZ (after thier hot start), JAX, IND, BUF, MIA, STL. No team besides IND above .500.

Our losses are NE x2, MIA, HOU, PITT, SF, SEA. No team besides MIA above .500

We are an average team that plays bad teams remaining on our schedule. Could we luck out and make the playoffs, yes. Does really mean we "deserve" to be there, no, but once you get there you can throw the regular season out the window. It's a new ballgame. Most likely IF we make it, we get crushed. IF we make it and get 1 win, I think that will surpass anyones wildest dreams

Hey, if we make the playoffs, that means that a team above us had to collapse.

I would think that finishing hot after a slow start would make us more deserving than a team that had a good start only to totally collapse.

Just want to get to .500 and see Pitt and or Bengals lose next week so we have a meaningful home game against the Chargers so we can have a rocking tailgate and last home game. I don't think we are going to the playoffs unless Big Ben goes down again
