You also don't win in this league by offering average players big contracts and then not realizing when to cut your losses.

I completely agree with Braylon. You guys can say what you want to about the numbers but there is NO denying that we don't have weapons to help out Sanchez. He's an above average QB when he has weapons. For Christ sake, freaking Blaine Gabbert has MORE weapons than us!!

    This is the facts:

    1. Braylon Edwards was the picture-perfect fit for the Jets.
    2. Santonio Holmes, not so much.
    3. So the FO decides to boot Edwards, and keep Holmes. The rest is history.

    4. With Woody and Faneca getting up there in ages, Jets never invested high picks on OL.
    5. With TJ gone, Jets did not have a suitable successor for TJ.

Ok. I get it. Sanchez sucks. But you know what? This front office sucks 1000x worse to be extremely generous in my assessment. This front office is filled with retards and dumb fucks. Blame Sanchez and Edwards and Eric Smith and WFH all you want, but the root of the problem is that fucking moron Tannenbaum, Bradway and their phony cronies crowding the front office. Deny that.

you don't win consistently w/ average QBs, you don't get as close to the SB as we did w/ poor QB play. maybe a team can make one fluky run but two? not happening especially beating the hottest teams in the AFC on the road in the div rd each year.

One huge fact we keep ignoring, Braylon has been HURT and remember he had that 2nd off field incident while we were still mulling to bring him back last year.

where did I say the QB was great? he was inconsistent too but he bailed us out a ton of games and overall had an excellent season. we don't win as much as we did w/ most other QBs.

Not saying we had poor QB play in the playoffs.
FO has been very generous with the contracts they have given out. David Harris is average at best, Sanchez - lets just say he is not deserving of this contract at all.
Giants had 2 fluke runs (not a cheap shot at them, but anyone with a brain could see it was a fluke).

Braylon is still bitter we didnt resign him. He overestimated his market value imo.

    this x100

We NEVER filled in the missing spots or leadership roles. INSTEAD we just tried to rack up on Defense. Partially Rex's fault but at the end of the day it's Tanny's job to set up the roster. Rex deals with the cards he's dealt.

Exactly. Jets did the right thing on this one, he wanted top dollar, Jets said no (for once!). Hindsight is 20/20, well on this move, mine is 20/20. Guy guy is nonexistent and wants media attention. That is all.

I think I remember him Offering a hometown discount, but didnt he end up signing for basically the minimum? I dont think he was offering us what he eventually signed for.

I really liked holmes/Braylon/Cotch but you cant overpay everyone.

Really? He said he would love to come back for any price? Jets tried to bring him back, he just wanted more money. He thought we were low balling him- he was overestimating his market value.

How can it be one or the other if he is willing to come back for any price? We had the money to sign 1 big deal and 1 what you would call average salary. He didn't want that.

In 2010 you have Braylon (on the field, beast, hungry, loved being a member of the Jets, off the field he needed more discipline.) Holmes on a contract year, no honors and Cotchery (blue collar, production guy more concerned about team, offense and winning than $$). You also have Brad Smith who understood and was a gifted talent at running his wild cat style offense.

In 2011 you pass on Braylon bc of off the field issues, you sign Holmes to a HUGE front loaded deal and pin captain on his chest, Cotchery walks, you bring in "Cheddar Bob" Burress and old man Derrick Mason. Hunter is the starting RT and Mangold goes down in Oakland with Ravens next on the schedule, in Baltimore. The running game is aging LT, Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight. "Terminator" Connor is the FB. Brad Smith is gone.

No protection. Receivers that are old or just chilling taking plays off, getting paid yo! We have a solid defense, but we try to run a fucking crazy offense that's pass heavy with, no counters, traps and play action (5 yard curls by all wide receivers when you need 7 yds, triple reverses, and only 2 plays that net 40+yds). (Sanchez b-lows; either does not practice or does not understand the power of misdirecting and freezing a defensive player). It's painful to watch.

It's GMac time! I am tired of rooting for bums that don't practice hard or play hard, a game they supposedly love. Holmes is trash, Sanchez is trash. If either of them gave a shit they would make comments to coaching and put in the time it takes to make the offense work. There is enough talent to be quasi productive.

Holmes, take some more plays off and throw the ball to another team on another team. Sanchez, pick your buggers and wipe them on teammates and throw all the interception and cough up the football as much as you want on another team.

New York City is a city of professionals. We root for professional football players. You two are phonies.

    It's GMac and Kerley time!
