Yeah I commented on that pass in the game thread and got a warning for it. I feel like I'm being targeted. But no as someone said earlier Tim will be inactive for the rest of the season because Sanchez is paid too much to be inactive and they don't want Tebow to start in any capacity either. It's either McElroy or lose out with Sanchez.

    Thank You. This x 1000.
While I also was happy to see Sanchez taken off the field for stinking like hot garbage... AGAIN, but people thinking McElroy is the long term answer are letting their Sanchez hate cloud their vision to see that his arm looked like any of ours...... I like the kid's moxie, but there's a reason he fell to the last rd of the draft. I hope I'm wrong.

yeh but its kind of hard to throw the ball when a 300 lb lineman comes in for a sack and breaks the kids back...

the simple fact of the matter here is no one knows what McElroy's real ceiling is. No one has as far as I have seen predicted he is destined to succeed, either. But all those who are so certain he will fail share much with those who predicted he would flop if they put him in. Which he did not.

Let him play. Let him practice and get reps with the first team. See what he's got for the rest of the season. Maybe the most that comes of it is that he earns the #2 job for next year, which I think should be open, too. At best? Well, take it one game at a time and see what happens.

But I do think those predicting he will fail would have some humility after he did so well with no reps with the first team, thrown in there with really no preparation other than being told you go in the next series, in his first time ever suited up for a regular season game, and he goes in there and leads a team that had been scoreless for over forty minutes to a TD on his first possession.

All real Jet fans are thrilled by this. That doesn't mean McElroy is the long term answer. No one is saying that. But predicting he will fail seems foolish.

    Or perhaps agenda driven.

If McElroy gets the start next week and stinks it up then the pressure is going to increase against Rex even moreso than before. First of all you'll have your Tebow crowd... no discussion there. Then you'll have the crowd second guessing whether Rex has any plan whatsoever or if he's doing everything by the seat of his pants... which at this point is an incredibly valid question.

I know this is extremely cliche but the only thing that can stave off of the wolves getting back to work on this organization is for the Jets to continue winning... regardless of who they decide to throw out there. This game was a nice diversion from a bad season but it's highly possible that this diversion was short term temporary at best.

^^I said he would flop HARD. I'm glad to see that he did not. In fact, McElroy looked poised, able to manage effective offensive strategy.

I'll take my crow with a little salt and vinegar. Thanks

if mcelroy gets the same leash as sanchez, he'll be cool to throw about 90 more picks before he loses his job ;)

Champions aren't afraid of failure. Sanchez, has become a liability as starting QB. McElroy, rightfully, won the starting job yesterday. Give him a chance to first. We are 5-7, it's not like we are playoff imminent.

I don't look at this team and see champions.

Every week from here on out is going to be an adventure and not the championship sort.

Didnt Mcelroy go 14-0 in 2009 at bama? He had a great team but he didnt lose games.
All he has to do is not lose games. Let the running game and d take over.apathy, Ints and fumbles lose games! And sanchez is the king! I want a qb who id pissed after a loss. Not pissing his drinks out at a club.

I'm just sitting here yesterday scratching my head, after the 3rd interception, "what is it going to take for this guy to get benched?" :breakdance:

I'm just excited to see ball faking skills that I don't see in Sanchez. It's amazing what can happen when you are able to misdirect or freeze a defense. It's even more amazing when you can run the football.

    Keep on faking McElroy.

He doesn't have a live enough arm. The defense will be able to challenge him.

First of all, Ryan was already under pressure due to Sanchez's sucking. He made the switch because Sanchez looked like crap and the Jets were scoreless after 40 minutes against a team that had lost seven games in a row. There of course was a risk that McElroy would have come in and turned the ball over himself. Yeah, that would have had people wondering why McElroy was on the roster when in Tebow the Jets do not have a real backup Qb, either.

But for the most part I think most people would look at McElroy playing badly against Jville this week as on him, not Ryan.

I heard there was video of Sanchez and Ryan in the locker room after the game. Has anyone been able to track it down?

But... But.... But.... Sanchez gives us the best chance to in damnit! That's what the man said, right? He is the Sanchize! How could you bench that stud for McElroy? I mean, Mark's completion percentage to the other team is EXCELLENT! It is NOT his fault the Cards DBs didn't catch those passes. So his completions to opposing defense would be way better but he is just suffering from drops. In this game alone he would have completed at least one more interception if not for silly DB errors. NOT Mark's fault. And the play calling of the officials.... How often do you see the opposing team players in perfect position to make a catch only to be 'interfered' with by some Jets wideout.

No, I say Sanchez is being scapegoated for the poor play of the players around him and these opposing team DBs are the perfect example. He would have way more completed
INTs if these guys had come thru....
