Sanchez 110% mcelroy did nothing to earn the starting role. Everyone says Sanchez is a backup caliber qb...what is mcelroy and tebow?
I'm going to have to vote for Sanchez. I LOVED what I saw from GMAC today but we still have a chance to make the playoffs winning 5 in a row. No rookie QB is going to win us 3 out of the next 4 on the road no way. Lets let the Chize finish it out. If he plays bad in the first half at JAX bench him but otherwise lets give him 1 more chance.
Yeah, seems like they ought to freshen up the scheme and play-calling -- try a different kind of attack.
The one big downside to McElroy is that he has been 3rd string all year and been getting almost no snaps in practice. It is going to take sometime for him to get up to speed and for the coaches to catch up with him as well. If we are going to go with McElroy he should get all of the last 4 games to see how he can develop. If we want to win the last 4 games my bet would be start McElroy and use Sanchez as the back-up. We might get a much more focused Sanchez as a relief QB. But for the long term it would be best to just suck it up and take our lumps and go with McElroy for all 4 games. We already know what we have in Sanchez and it not good. Lets see what we have in McElroy and see if he can develop. The defense has played great all year and kept us in games before collapsing from 2 many 3 and outs. Al we have needed to win and all we need to win the last 4 games is mediocre QB play and no TOs.
no I thought this to and if this does happen and he starts to mess up we could just pull him again, I think Sanchez might actually play well in JAX with no fans booing him and its a warm weather game and the things u said
Might as well let both McElroy and Tebow play. No wildcat crap. Maybe McElroy starts, but give Tebow some series also. It really doesn't matter much at this point, does it? The remaining games are essentially meaningless, preseason type of games. If one or the other lights it up against weak opponents with nothing to play for, does it really mean anything? They should have benched Sanchez much earlier in the season in my opinion.
Probably will end up being Sanchez, but If im Rex Ryan I wont know untill I see some things in practice this week.
This is a business, and 2 not so stellar teams. Woody calls the new owner of the Jags, and says hey, 10% of sales and I start Tebow. Book it.
The visiting team already gets 40 percent of ticket sales due to the recent revenue sharing agreement- so it that reason is already in play.
I highly doubt McElroy is the answer to the Jets hole at QB. But since they're not going to make the playoffs anyways, may as well let McElroy have a shot. You never know, after all.
I haven't read through the whole thread, but the 'starting QB' really isn't the issue. Who is Rex gonna have backing up McElroy next week? We've not dressed 3 QB's yet, so it will be either Sanchez or Tebow (if healthy) holding the clipboard. And with the winner of the 'back up roll' likely to hold that position the remainder of the season, it's also likely that that player will come in sooner or later before the season is over.
I think he means Tebow has purely the strongest arm on the team (which he does). The problem is that while he can fling the ball, it doesn't tend to actually, you know, be in the direction of our receivers. That can be an issue for people who play QB.
